I think FFXI comes out ahead in that promo, but I'll happily take my very own taru slave...pet...minion.
On another note, they really need to add critters and have minions interact with them/each other. Would be pretty awesome having your Shantoto minion randomly nuke local fauna.

No, not mobs, critters, like in WoW. Just random 0-level things like squirrels, birds, insects, etc that give no xp or loot and are just there for environmental effect.

So basically SE should add to our minions:
Minions will interact with the player and other minions.
Certain minions despise/admire other minions.
Minions will perform mock combat with minions they don't like.
Think about it... have you seen dogs/owners interact in the park? Sometimes, things go wrong...
