Bioware's upcoming MMO to be based in KOTOR universe.

All I can say is :o .

I was a... mild fan of SWG back in the day. Only thing I was able to master was Dancer and that was pretty much it. I'm hoping to god they do a system similiar to SWG [In which you could make certain combinations of classes. I.E. how some would go towards Teras Kasi Master and put some points into Medic/Doctor... yes, I'm talking about the pre-CU/NGE updates].

Anyways, I can't wait until Bioware begins to put stuff out for us to see in a year.

The only hope for this game at all is that it's made by Bioware, which has the freakin hand of Midas. Neverwinter Nights, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate series, KOTOR, all freaking gold.

In a kick in the nuts, though, I heard something about EA acquiring Bioware. EA has a good track record in Sports, but precious little else. If it looks like the game is faltering, EA will drop it like a hot rock rather then nurture it.
In the end, I'm just talking out of my ass. So take it all with a grain of salt.

I'm just praying to god they can develope something with online content. The online stuff in NWN really sucked unless you were in a custom map without some asshat who used stop every ten seconds.

They did, as horrible as it sounds. And going on EA's record with MMOs (Eve Online and The Sims Online), it'll get dropped pretty fast. Hell, I'm surprized they haven't killed Madden yet. Its been sucking ever since they aquired the rights to all the teams.

Don't get me started on EA, just look at the Command & Conquer series :oops:

Generals had the worst net-code ever, the game ran amasingly sluggish across a network even with the most uber computers running it on the worst graphics mode.

Red Alert 3 is just f*cked up. Great game only ruined by the fact that I can't F*CKING PLAY IT HALF THE F*CKING TIME!!! :x Direct3D error and whoops kicks you out, a widely reported bug and 7 or 8 patches now and still the issue hasn't been addressed :x

I was thinking more along the lines of Earth and Beyond. The first MMO I ever got into. It ran for a year, was bought by EA, ran for another year, and then they canceled it to work on The Sims Online.

E&B had a phenomenal story line that evolved as time went on. It was interactive with the players and you felt like you were in a world where you were an actor in it. Not someone reading a book like most other games have it. Because let's face it, FFXI has a good story line, but it's like reading a book when you get down to it. It's as interactive as tightrope walking.
In the end, I'm just talking out of my ass. So take it all with a grain of salt.

Its how Anarchy Online was until roleplay became a big fad in there by the GMs.

Asheron's Call 1 used to have GM implaced events that the players could dictate what happened to the story.

Except one event they needed to force to occur for a bigger plotline... but since one server was able to defend it. They got a bit of a reward (The GMs had to go in there and shatter the damn thing)

I loved E&B. It was so beautiful, so easy to play, always had something to do; even if it was just dumping trash and satellites in some planet's orbit. The story was great, the V'rix were so fun to play with. I still wish EA hadn't canceled it...for The Sims of all flippin' things.

I have never bought an EA game since they canceled E&B. And will never buy another EA MMO, they just tend to ruin them like SOE does.

Only EA game I'll touch after that is Battlefield games. But yeah, the V'rix. <3 I remember I had a Jenquai Defender I used to mass murder....what was it....progen I think? And Red Dragons? Just to increase my faction standing with the V'rix, so I could explore their space.

Highest character I had was a Terran....the merchant class, not the fighting class. I was level 60 or so, but I remember my title. Emptor.

Remember all the char and ship customization? SE should impliment something like that (I know I know, it would be insanely difficult at this stage of the game) and let us recolor our armor and stuff. Nothing like a 16bit color pallete for your armor, hair, and skin colors. Maybe we'll be able to start recognizing people before we see their name then lol.

Nah, E&B deserves a good derailing. First off, we know precious little about the MMO to come. And second, E&B doesn't get the praise it deserved.
