My RL friend is getting married this weekend and he's the first of my friends to do so. I wonder how long it'll be for the next couple to do the same? I'm just feeling the vibe that this could lead to a wedding-boom...or...<gulp> even a baby boom.
Anyway, I reckon that might be a good opportunity for a single such as I get acquinted with some gals. That's assuming I don't spend too much time drinking the free booze and that I somehow manage to get over my overflowing shyness.
Any tips for a Manthra to get a girlfriend from a wedding, preferably not a one-night stand although that's better than nothing I guess... Help me out kitties!

Ah so you DONT want to get the slapped. Well then you should approach her and say: Hey, after the wedding would you care to go out with me to dinner. (Or lunch if its afternoon) From there if you do get that far, don't go into her home and do the magical 4 letter word. Otherwise It may just end right there. As for dating tips. Make jokes (or if you don't have a sense of humor or if she doesnt have one etc etc.) Find out what you and she have in common. Tell her that youll treat her like a gentleman should. I am in no means saying suck up. (I sure as hell wouldnt) Just say what you feel and you should go right. If they can't like you for who you are, then find someone else.
Then again its just some tips. I personally don't have a girlfriend, but then again, I don't go out looking for one.

You always have something to start a conversation at a wedding. "Hi, I'm Don, I went to school with Jack the groom for 12 years." Or whatever. It really doesn't mater what or how tenuos your connection to the wedding party is. "Hi, I feel kind of out of place here, I am the bride's second cosoun, once removed, and I know about three people here, all in them busy in the bride's party."
Somewhere in the conversation drop this line "He is so lucky" or "I wish I could find someone like <bride's name>"
There you have it. The ice breaking line, the I am in the market line.
No one knows anyone else there. Consider this prime terotory for finding someone, even a special someone.

Oh, yes I did. I mean drink the punch...lots of it.
Didin't meet anyone interesting enough though. There were very few people of my age so I concentrated on singing karaoke and having a drunken blowout with everyone. It was very fun though.
