I was listening to Pimsleur I - 9 and the whole lesson is basically learning how to get rejected in Japanese ...
Starts off with the basic "Do you want to get a drink?" kinda thing and all replies back are "No I don't want to drink then." and "I don't want to drink with you."
Being a persistant amerika-jin (that's American
) you ask "Ah but you want to eat with me, right?" then go onto ask "When would you like to eat? 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock. She replies "Not 1 o'clock, not 2 o'clock." and I'm thinking "Well that's good I didn't ask those times..." then the commentry says "And she adds for measure:" "Not 8 o'clock, not 9 o'clock."Being somewhat confused and slightly ignorant of the language you ask again "When would you like to eat?"
To which she replies, "you don't understand."
"What don't I understand?"
"You don't understand Japanese."
And that's how the lesson ends. Big fat "JP ONRY!" in yer face
It's like the makers of these lessons anticipated me playing FFXI and added it into the lesson Before I get sensored for being racist or something this is the honest to God truth, if someone has somewhere where I can host the mp3 you can listen for yourself. I just found it funny, that's all
