How do you create those cool custom made siggy's? Some of you even got your very own character names on them.

Photoshop. I personally use photoshop 7, and have found it the easiest for me to use.

You can find a free trial online, and test it out if you want. You can always find some tutorials for it too to get you started.

For ones with the character models in them, it's a combination Photoshop as mentioned before, and the FFXI model viewer. Unfortunately, only PC players can use the model viewer.

Where to get it? Uh... google is good.

Indeed, that's how I do mine, I tinker in the Model Viewer, find shots I like (or think of shots and look for whatever I can that's closest to it) and then I take those shots to either Photoshop or Paintshop Pro and create my banner. I can make them pretty easily. I used to do requests on some of my other forums, I just ehh...tend to be kinda lazy on occasion, admittedly, so I warn people not to expect them uber-fast anymore...especially now that I play FFXI constantly. o.o;

I was accepting requests, I don't know if i'll ever do that again! I would get pesky PMs saying "Is it done yet?" and i'm like, "Gahh! you just asked a few hours ago! @_@;" And sometimes I wasn't even working on that request first and gah!! x_x;

The horror is over and done now though...and my trial is over T____T I'll have to poke my bf into getting the offical one if he can find it. X____x;

personally i use GIMP, you can get it free at Gimp.org

its an open sourse image manipulation program... in short its free photoshop. it works different though, and it can be tricky to learn. (hell i just play with it from time to time) but is FAR more powerful than photoshop. anyway, thats just what i do

I used to do requests and stuff too, but only to raise my skills

I lapsed on the whole sig making thing though.. got a bit boring with people saying "omgz ur awezum plz sig!"

My photoshop was free

I use Photoshop and Imageready (latter for animated ones) and I still do take requests even though I now have no time to do them

The thing to remember with the model viewer is White is not Transparent, so set the background colour to something that'll stick out (I use a light blue) and use the magic wand to delete the BG and eraser for the smaller areas
