You can steal beastcoins from most beastmen. The only two exceptions to this that I know of are the THF job Goblins (you get 1 crossbow bolt) and Garnet/Silver/Zircon Quadavs in Beadeaux (you get the Quadav Stew, an item for the AF dagger quest for THF.) The higher level the beastmen, the higher-grade the beastcoins. Most of the time you can steal the same beastcoins that they drop.

There's not a whole lot else that I've found I can steal reliably and get good money from selling. It's possible to steal silk from some crawlers.

My THF is only level 40, so I can't really say from personal experience on anything harder.

Yes indeed. This is the favorite target for young THFs from Windurst. You can steal honey from bee types.

you can steral a Pickaxe from the Goblin diggers, and Fishing Rods from Goblin Fishermen. The Gobbies you steal Crossbow bolts from are RNGs, not THFs. Like most RNGs they seem to have spent all their coin on ammo.

When you get bigger, you can steal Cockatrice meat from the Sabertooth Tigers in Sauromage Champagin.

Typically the beastmen will drop one grade lower. I've seen thieves steal gold and they drop mythril. Once in a while, a gold will drop, but the money from coins is definately in stealing. :)

I've also had a few rather disturbing steals.

I stole the hide off of a Rarab once.

Also stole a femur from one Dhalmel and some meat from another.
Thom wrote:never been able to steal silk from crawlers, but i can steal Spider web from any spider
The steal rate is pretty low on crawlers. The only ones I've pulled off on are the Carnivorous Crawlers (Buburimu Peninsula, Maze of Shakirhami, Pashow Marshlands)

Also, depending on the zone that you are in, stolen items may change, like in East and West Romfuare, when you successfully steal from rabbits, you get sandorian carrots

I like stealing Hare Meat from Wild Rabbits or Giant Sheep Meat from Wild Sheep. You kinda wonder how you get away with that and still have to fight the stupid thing.

 there are so so many, would be difficult to list all the good ones but i'll try to give some of em....

Silk worms (crawler's without 'Crawler' in the name) >> silk threads
Non-RNG, Beastnen >> beastcoins (RNGs only carry ammo)
-- The type of beastcoin that will be carried is dependant on the mobs level
-- Coffer level mobs will carry Gold Coins, my personal fave^^
Spiders >> spider webs
Ghosts >> Squares of Cloth
-- silk, cotton, lumin, rainbow and so forth, dependant on level.
Tigers >> Meat
Wasps/Bees/Hornets >> Beehive Chips / Honey
Crabs >> rocksalt

This is all i can think of off the top of my head ^^, there are many more tho, gotta be patient because some of them have an apaulingly low rate, but try it out ^^;

I don't like stealing rock salt. :P

And not ALL beastmen are good to steal from. I have yet to steal anything from a yagudo in that first big room of castle Oz, and I spent a lot of time trying. Also, the higher lvl goblins in Gustav tunnel, the ones with the Alchemist whm type, they only give you Beastcoins, not silver, not mythril, not gold... nope... and what do they drop? Ash Staff?! I hate those goblins. They are so cheap!

For lower lvl stealing Bird Feathers off of Crows and Akbabas and such is not too bad. Something like 2k a stack on Fenrir. Plus birds drop them too. That's not too bad for gil in the early days, and it's better than selling them for 1 gil each to a vendor. :D

Sometimes cheap is good. Curaga IV, Cure V, Regen III, Reraise III, and Shellra IV are dirt cheap because Gobbie Alchemists drop them like candy at a Halloween party. :)

 just goes to show how much the economy varies between servers. Feathers, rock salt and beastcoins are all junk steals on alexander :( those mobs carry regular beastcoins sadly, and before u drop those WHM scrolls try selling them to NPC, they tend to be worth 4-10k each to NPC, more than double the AH price on alexander and it's instant. Also, although those goblins are the same level as coffer mobs, i dont know of any that actually drop keys, so this might be why they dont carry gold coins? In any case, there's a trick with gobs, the RNG type ones which would otherwise carry mythril will often drop gold coins if u steal their ammo before u kill them. not 100% but it seems to persuade them for some reason

Nope, they are Ranger Goblins, otherwise they'd have super evasion and Triple Attack like the now infamous Hobgoblin Blaggers. Who knew those lowly Gobling Thugs and Muggers would become so insanely hard to kill at higher levels. 0.o;

Also since this is the Stealing thread and to steer us back on-topic... the reason Tabar Beaks are farmed so often is because you can steal Giant Bird Feathers off them. Goes for just under 40K a stack on Titan now... not really that profitable but at the level that you can start farming them it doesn't take very long to get stacks of feathers on the days when the Moons are in alignment and everything. :)

Yep i can confirm everything that was just said  cant believe i forgot to put those on there, value is lower than gold coins (at least on alexander) but they're much easier to steal, they make a good compromise until you get to 60/65 ish. :D

I believe it is only the tabar beaks that carry them however; other cockatrice' dont seem to carry anything of value from my experience although maybe there's a pattern to this similar to crawler type mobs and their silk.

once u hit 50s-60s a good place is to go the the QUlun Dome part where the HNM are (also where u have to go for G3) and steal from theHigh lvl Quads on either side for Gold Beastcoins then just zone (think someone said u can steal plat coins off Ruby Quadav there too though I cant confirm this) its easy though just steal and zone u'll have to wait for curse to wear off on ur way in (or keep urself silenced) but once thats done little luck u could get stack of gold easily (except Platinum Quadvs u steal thf testimonys from)

Alternatively the HNM cavern part of Monastic Cavern is probably as good though more difficult to get into

Alternatively {Castle Oztroja} is a place to check into also, seeing as the mobs are sight based and you can use Hide which might make it a bit easier to sneak around.

The conquistadors drop Ni scrolls some of which can go for quite a bit of money and the top lvl {yagudo} can steal goldbeastcoins or kill the mobs for drops (I hear the BLMs drop expensive spells too)

yes, castle O is a good place for stealing gold coins. I can steal coins, and then easily solo them for drops...and when they respawn, they have a new coin for me. And when things start going bad, say you take an unlucky -ga spell before you can sleep bolt it, or get links, safety is just a{Hide} away.

Yeah i personally prefer castle oz cause u can hide without any complications, also if u concentrate on BLMs and BRDs there u'll have a much easier time stealing due to the lower evasion, i dunno about ruby quadav carrying coins, i'll have to check this out :D *readies a stack of sleep bolts* ah well he drops rubies if not anyway, and if it turns out he does carry, chances are adaman does too, and he drops adaman ores so it's win/win ^^
