I am a noob with a few questions...

Hey,
Sorry if these questions are answered elsewhere, but I would like to know...

1.) Is there one server you all use?
2.) If so, what is it? And how can I get there?
3.) And how do you get those pics of your characters? I'm stupid. (that last part was just stating the obvious, it has nothing to do with any one particular question, but has everything to do with me......anyway!)

Again, sorry if this is already answered, I'm new to the website. Thank you all!!

1 and 2: Yes, it's Midgardsormr. You can get a world pass to join us from here. You'll have to create a new chara after that tho, sowwy.

3. Some of the PC players use a program called Fraps to get screenshots of themselves for avatars and sigs, my sig and avvy were done by a friend of mine from a shot from the ingame screenshotter while I was playing beta ^^ (My retail chara is different than my beta one, however, so it's gonna get changed real soon, now that I got level 12 and got rid of my starter armor) (To activate the ingame screenshotter on PS2, hit select on your controller, then hit print screen on your USB kb. I forget how to do that on PC though I played both betas. And the ingame one tends to suck and not give you the best pics, Fraps does better)

Also, check this thread if you want a sig like mine, three of my friends from another board will do sigs for us MP kitties. Just ask'em via e-mail

and have some screenshots to do one with. (That is, if my personal page is up. 250free has had some problems lately)

(Which reminds me, any of you kitties who are playing on PC and have Fraps, would you be willing to meet me by the Star Tree sometime and take some high qual shots for me to feed to Malangy? Pleeease?)

Thanks, I'll see into getting over to the other server. I won't lose too much, seeing as how I only got 10 today.....I don't get a lot of playing time in, ever.

Does anyone know where I can download the FFXI intro movie in a format OTHER than .mov ? I don't play the game on my computer, it sucks, so I want to get the movie on it from the 'net. Sorry for my lack of intelligence in these matters......I'm just plain stupid.

Yes, Mrjay is my gameside name as well. I usually play around 3:30 to 5pm central. I'm on Fairy as well, in case that tells you anything.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but he's way too stubborn and takes the game way too seriously to do that. Keeps griping about how I'm not leveling fast enough. Oy.

Real quick....this may seem out of place, but I'll explain later.....on the system requirements table (on the box for FFXI) it says an 800MHz processor or faster....does that mean top speed or bus speed?

The 800 MHz means the speed of your processor. Generally when you load the computer from power off it will say the make and speed of your processor. i.e. My computer says:

AMD Athlon XP 2000 Mhz

as long as that says a number higher than 800 you will be okay if it says Ghz rather than MHz then you are okay too.

Thanks, I'm having computer problems, if any of you were looking for me at all.

I'm working on switching servers, but I'm having trouble just getting the computer issue worked out.

Do any of you know of a good place that has a database for all of the items? Preferably one that has a search engine to make it easy to find a specific type of item.

I've just about got my computer problem fixed. So, when I do....I guess I'll delete my char and start over on the MithraPride server....I'll let you know when I do. Fortunately, I'm only losing a Lvl 10 THF, so I should be okay. Maybe I can level back up relatively soon.

Well, my character has THF to level 9, but I don't think I will be going back to THF right away.

If you would like some of the items, you can have them. When you are back on FFXI send me a tell and I can get you those, if you wish.

Yeah....'bout that......

I was playing over at a friend's house before, right? Well, I finally got my computer FFXI-friendly and guess what? He DELETED my character and was using it for a mule. We have since had a discussion and I am temporarily unable to play FFXI.

The good news is that he's on Fairy....and he doesn't know I'm planning on changing servers. Speaking of which, I have a good friend who started a week or so ago and landed himself on Titan server....so now I'm torn between coming with MithraPride and hangin' with him, because he knows nothing about FFXI. But, seeing as how I can't play for a few days...I have some time to think about it, huh?

Hmm....free friends and fruit.....sounds good. Too bad I still can't get my hands on a GAME!!! It's sad...I really do live in the middle of nowhere. The nearest Wal Mart is almost 45 minutes away. Seriously. I almost had my history teacher get a copy for me since she was goin' out of town this weekend, but I decided against it. What makes the whole thing worse is that I'll be so busy for about three weeks that I probably won't get to play except when I should be sleeping. But that's when most of us play anyway, right?
I have, however, decided that I will be joining Midgar for my new character. IF I can get on it. I guess I'll need a world pass or something....(strongbad-style grumbling)....

From what I hear..YES. As long as it's a Visa or Mastercard. You can even use a check card...which is what me and my bro are doing.

I HATE HARVEST!!! I'm stuck away from my computer all day....working with stuff I'm highly allergic to. Isn't farming fun?!

The good news is, tomorrow I'll be able to sign on and play. The bad news is, I won't be able to sit down and play for over a week. Further bad news is that I can't get onto Midgar without a world pass...at least not easily. I hate being a mooch, but...I need a world pass in about 10 days or so. I don't know what I can do to repay whomever, but I'll try. I always make repaying debts a top priority. Anyways....I'm off to the capitol! Later, kitties!
