Sugami, do you care about nothing but the party? haha

I guess when reading through your post...I dunno.

I myself don't care too much for parties, or how much damage I'm doing. I'm doing things for fun. If people won't want to party with me for that, their loss. They lose out on getting to know me. It's a shame, but I guess that's how it goes. People get caught up in their stats, equipment, how to do the most damage and fail to notice the intricate details and history of Vanadiel.

I guess I try to search every corner for something new. I level and whatnot, but it's not my top priority. (as long as I get atleast a level a day I'm cool.) Exploring is way too fun.

When it comes to job combos in an XP PT the worse ones are the ones with under leveled subs. That's my pet peeve. If a person feels strongly about being a WAR/RDM or THF/SMN, fine. IMHO if that's your thing go for it; you pay your money to play, play the way you want. (Somebody might give you a chance to prove yourself) But if you are going to "think outside the box" and are going to fight your position the least you can do is keep your sub capped. WAR32/WHM11 doesn't cut it in my book. All too often do I see these "free thinkers" looking for an XP PT with an under leveled sub.

Of course not. If I did then I wouldn't bother leveling so many jobs ^^
When in an EXP party if your subjob slows down or even puts the party in danger you should stop and think. If you want to do some weird job combo then fine do it in your own time but when it screws up the party that's where I draw the line. (using the proverbial "you" :P)

Seeing someone that is Rank 1 past level 20 really annoys me. How hard is it to get Rank 2? It's the whole point of the game is to follow the plot/story not just to get to lvl 75.

I agree with underleveled sub. I will not invite people with underleveled subs or suggest inviting them as they're no doubt noobs that will get the party killed. They often come coupled with low rank too, doesn't fill you with much confidence.

Additional:
Oh, I recently partied with a RDM 36/BLM 17 (sub is only one level underleveled but wait there's more!) with 2 astral rings and load of +1 equpiment. Oh Rank 2 aswell. Most likely RDM is their highest but how the hell can they afford that? *cough*gilbuyer*cough* ... just makes me angry (-_-)

1) PLD/BST (Really anything but WAR is bad)

no, not really. me and Tygari were talking about this a little while ago, and RDM would actually be a good PLD subjob, they get all those weapon enchantments, as well as blaze spikes, more mana, stoneskin..... there are a few others i forgot, but thats besides the point. yes, i do understand your missing out on voke, but you can be a tank without it, i believe this can be quite successful.
A catgirl is a woman or girl with cat ears and a cat tail, but an otherwise human body; they are found semi-commonly in anime and manga either as a form of cosplay or actual body parts, as well as in a few videogames. Catgirls wishing to look especially cute will wear over-sized mittens and shoes that look like paws. Fans unfamilar with the Japanese obsession with kawaii sometimes point out catgirls act more like kittens than grown cats, who can be aloof and surly.

Red Mage is basically the mage's version of paladin... still a mage, yes, but a tougher mage (seen with the more starting hp/less mp, stoneskin, phalanx, swords, Armor heavier than cloth available early.. etc)
Windurst Rank 10

Sugami wrote:NIN/RNG probably be a better DD if you've got your throwing up to scratch.
I would just like to point something out here (going off topic here for a sec). There is some debate about what a NIN/RNG would use as a main weapon. Some say throwing since it gets the best 'grade' (if you will) but the problem here is that (1) throwing has no Weapon Skills and (2) the cost (see below). For this reason many of the NIN/RNGs I know use guns. This allows lots of dmg and allows WS that can be used in skill chains. Even though guns get a 'C' rating with NIN having the /RNG helps make up for the slightly lower grade. (Another problem with guns is that nin can't use x-bows use to level marksmenship, they have to fire a rifle. >.< nothing comes cheep to the ninja, ever. But since you are going /RNG you should have a jump start on your marksmenship.)

Now, if a NIN were to throw shiriken in battle as a main weapon (I'm talking about the level 48 ones here, not going to talk about the next ones up) and the PT was getting XP at an average speed. The Ninja would be spending a little more than 500k every hour of an XP PT (with such a low delay they will go fast; a nin can throw three almost four shiriken by the time it takes to fire one round from a gun). So, in some of the upper levels where it can take 8-10 straight hours of solid XP to gain a level or so the Ninja will pay 4-5 million in their weapons alone for that one level. (Even if they craft them it's still going to be over-the-top in cost. They cap at 65 and require a Darksteel sheet and a Tama-Hagane.) Regardless, the cost is more then just "really expensive".

P.S. I don't know about most Ninja but even though I'm a Nin/War I keep my throwing up to scratch. It's not too hard to do, like most things it just takes great timing.

The title is most usless combos.

Any melee/WHM or RDM is useful for soloing.

WAR/WHM or WAR/RDM is acceptable in a pinch till level 30 or so. Scratch those from the list.

Pretty much any combo that someone desperate just might invite shouldn't be on the list.

Blue Mage / Pirate, now THAT is flat out usless

Pirate / Dancer..... now wherrre DID I leave that low cut bodice? :D
Red Mage 99, White Mage 50, Black Mage 75, SCH 99, Summoner 14, THF 25, BLU 25, NIN 50, WAR 18, DRK 50, DNC 49, PLD 50. Goldsmith 72 +2, Cooking 60 +2, Alchemy 41, Fishing 33, Rank 8, Windurst, Lakshmi (Garuda, I weep for you)

Red Mage 26 White Mage 11 Black Mage 12 Thief 16, Cooking 1, Rank 3, Windurst, Quez.

I know it's been awhile since this was posted, but oddly this job combination came up in conversation with some of my friends.

It's actually not quite so bad as you might think. Charm causes a lot of hate, probably about as much as Provoke. So as long as you used Charm instead of Provoke, and you didn't actually charm the monster you were fighting, this combination would work.

You'd lose Defender, and abilities like that however.
