From the description in the POL news, it seems like there might be more combinations than last year. I hope so!

For people who did it last year and got Happy/Fortune eggs, what do you get this year?

Demetres from Alla wrote: For those who remember last year's Easter Egg Event, many aspects of this event are the same: you talk to the moogle, get eggs, trade in assorted combinations for goodies. There are 3 new furnishings (based on the tree starting cities) if you find the "hidden" combinations, and lots of new ways to get eggs!

Getting Eggs:Every game day (Vana'diel day that is), you can talk to the moogle and get one initial egg, with a random letter.
One way to get an egg you need is to group with other people before you talk to the Moogle, you may then choose an egg based on the initials of the people you are grouped with (excluding yourself), so if I, Demetress, group with Alphamale and Berzerky, I can choose a A Egg or a B Egg, Alphamale can choose a B or D egg and Berzerky can choose between A end D eggs.

You may also get one extra egg per Vanadiel day by trading 12 Bird Eggs, 12 Hard-Boiled Eggs, 6 Lizard Eggs or 1 Colored Egg to the moogle.

Trading a Lucky Egg to a Moogle will get you 3 extra eggs. These eggs will be random. You may also get eggs by harvesting, logging or mining. (Odd, isn't it?)

Egg Combinations:
The first thing you will need to do is collect the first three letters of your name. So, for Demetress, I need a D, E and M Egg. Trade these in with the moogle (you may only turn in one combination per day), and you will get Chocobo Tickets or Colored Drops.

The next combination you'll want to try for are the 7 of a Kind or the 8 Initial Straight. The 7 of a Kind is just as it sounds, 7 of the same letter. The 8 Initial Straight begins with the first letter of your name. So, for Demetress, I would need an D, E, F, G, H, I, J and K egg. Trading for the Initial 8 will get you a Happy Egg, and trading for the 7 of a Kind will get you a Fortune Egg.

IMPORTANT NOTE: for those of you who have a Happy Egg or Fortune Egg from last year, apparently if you try to complete the 7 of a Kind or the 8 Initial Straight, you will not get a reward, and the Moogle will still take your eggs.

Hidden Combinations:
Finding the hidden combinations for each city will get you the different egg furniture pieces, presumably. They are, for Windurst a Flower Egg, for Bastok a Lamp Egg and for San d'Oria a Wing Egg.

Moogle Locations:
Northern San d'Oria
Southern San d'Oria

Bastok Mines
Bastok Markets

Windurst Woods
Windurst Waters

Event Specifics

Event Item Rewards: Chocobo Tickets, Black Drop, Blue Drop, Clear Drop, Green Drop, Purple Drop, Red Drop, White Drop, Yellow Drop, Happy Egg, Fortune Egg, Flower Egg, Lamp Egg and Wing Egg.

Actually, from the posts I've read about it on Allakhazam, VADEL gets you a furniture egg, but it's not consistently the same one. They're still trying to figure out what the determining factors are, but there seem to be people who have gotten one of each of the furniture eggs by using VADEL on their servers. It seems the difference is across servers, as some people get the Wing Egg for VADEL, while others get the Flower or Lamp Egg. :?:

Umm....I wonder how I should do the 8 Initial Straight since my name starts with Y. :? Would it be like: Y, Z, A, B ,C, D, E, F?

Got Fortune Egg, but I was lazy and spent a lot of money....

The letters wrap. Yes, you need Y-F. Side note, you can make alot of money off this if you have patience. In Cerberus, eggs in Sandy are going for on average 5k per from bazaars.
In the end, I'm just talking out of my ass. So take it all with a grain of salt.

Herrre's the scoup:

It's the 1st 5 letters of a region of vanadiel. Forrr example: GUSTA = Gustaberg

You get the furnature of whatever nation contrrrols the area. If the area is under beastmen contrrrol, you get turned into a mob.

that's so cool...makes we wish i had had enough safe space and everything too, because I had to toss my trees  I wanna get all the event items and keep them all up in my room and look at them every time i walk into my house...something i'm going to have to get high level woodworking for so i can make myself some high-storage furniture, and we could do garrisons and i'll get a manequin and that'll help hold some of my equipment...that'll be so great...I hope I can get that done by next Christmas

Why is it that Windurst always has the coolest items? ;) Bwahaha... actually, from the Christmas event I liked the San d'Orian and Windurst tree most, followed by the Bastok tree. For these Furniture Eggs, I like Windurst, then Bastok (shocker!) then San d'Oria. San d'Oria's doesn't even glow! P-shaaaw!

It's really that all my junk I had I needed to access from my rent-a-rooms too....at the time I didnt have an airship pass or anything so I didnt have any way to get back to windurst any faster than half an hour, something i really didnt want to do. Now I wish I had kept those trees because they look nice, I wanna collect all the event items (I'm a Rare Item Hunter from .Hack! :D ) and I can get to my house really quick now, and I found an effective way of making safe space without throwing anything away....I'll let ya guess a bit before i tell you

Some Auction Houses have the Christmas Trees for sale under Furnishings... you might be out 30k (typically 10k per tree on Alexander), but you'll have your pretties back! :D
