ok...1st off...i KNOW that BST subbed isnt really the best thing to do...at least from what i heard...

BUT

ive found THF/BST rather fun...
u see...playin THF from the beggining...THF isnt really ur best soloer...ive found myself runnin from EP on several occasions... but BST subbed has saved me quite a few times...

altho not evrything can be charmed...what cant be charmed is bound...thats 1 option for escape...another is charm somthin nearby to help out...
I once started a fight with a Gob Leecher and a Tinkerer linked...i can take 1 or the other but not both... an i hate zonin when mobs known to aggro r chasin me... i managed to charm a Bull Dhalmel nearby, sic'ed it on 1 of the gobs an took on the other an killed it... the Dhalmel was still busy... so i ran (btw Flee wasnt rdy to use)...survived with 4 hp

on the other hand... subbing BST allows for higher lvl charms (my BST is currently lvl 7)...i charmed a Coeurl once... they pwn things... she was a good kitty...but had to put her down near the entrance to Tahrongi :( ...but at least i got screenshots :D

BST subbed also helped me get Carby's Ruby cuz i could just get the leeches to fight the other leeches(and the leeches i charmed were the 1s that linked)

well thats it for my opinions to BST subbed...
i forgot to list cons... well besides lower CHR stat (from what i heard) i dont no any other cons...

FINALLY... im done... im horrible at typing so this was a really... a feat for me :lol:

I think the rule goes like this...

If you're having fun with your main/sub jobs then it's a good combination, and don't let anyone tell you different. :wink:

I'm 95% sure I will be a BST when the time comes. It's good to hear that they can still charm and get you out of trouble as a subbed job. :)

I've always wanted to go around as a really high lvl character with my lvl 1 bst subbed and charm like a Notorious manster or something. is that possible? wouldnt that piss off a few people in valk to see the Emperor kicking the crap out of goblins :lol:

You can't charm NM's but I've seen people running around Qufim killing things with the kraken.

I just found out that THF is one of the best soloers in the game...
but i can barely survive a Decent Challenge :cry:

just because im broke all the time and cant afford the good stuff :x :cry:

How are THFs the best soloers? Or do you mean farmers?

I would think BSTs, DRGs, and possibly SMNs would be best - in that order. Firemyst (DRG) was soloing for up to 200exp per mob the other night.

Walk up behind something T. Use SA. Be prepaired to use Flee if you miss. They probably meant Farmer though. Try subbing WHM or RDM for soloing?

As a RDM I have been soloing Ts and VTs all my life. IT Worms too. Silence + Archery vs. Worms = sick and wrong but a lot of fun. :D

Hmmm, I think that would apply to a DRG and maybe a SMN, but for a BST it's more like they make new friends wherever they go. :P

I'm no ranger. Besides they get to pay for their high damage. But I wouldn't spend that much just to go solo a few levels. If I solo, I'd want to be making money at it too. That's why I'm a THF. :D Maybe too much to ask :roll:

i just found out the person forgot to say NINJA SUBBED...
of course THEY can do it... i cant afford NIN... + i heard Norg fame kills ur fame in other nations... i need to do the Drain quest and Aspir quest for my DRK... which is lvl 7 now :lol:
but i did manage to solo a Yuhtunga Mandy as THF an survived with 4hp :lol:...
i found out the NIN was implied when i was asked "u have dual wield Archers Knives" or somethin like that... im like "um... no... no dual wield... my NIN is 7"
i just wanna stop hearing that "ALL THFs can solo Toughs ALL the time" from this person...

btw which is worse...
underlvld sub or appropriately lvld DRG sub?

Depends which underleveled sub. And drg can be pretty good combo... if you withstand the usual flak about it. SATA jump can be a nice hate getter. Certainly more fun than /war if I do say so myself.

also bout the "solo THF" thing... the person im talkin bout is in the MP LS of Hades... evry time it starts it pisses me off an i just wanna leave MP right there... but i cant because 1 person isnt enuff cause to leave all the others... but still its very irritating an i dont wanna hear it... ive heard hi lvl THFs say THF is only a solo job if u have the insane amounts of gil... an the few THFs i talked to said they did NOT solo...

altho at least i have a Merc. Capt. Doublet now...

those "ritch" thieves are the ones that farmed astrals in castle oz before they were moved from those coffers. /cough Lynx. but thief/nin can solo very well at high lvls, cauze they dodge so much... as for farming, who knows... not a high lvl thf ;p

You can kill tough mobs as THF/NIN but it takes high lvl items and certain tatics to do so. Also it depends on the kind of mob. Some mobs can be soloed easily with blink and sleep/bloody bolts. Just sleep the mob then run behind it and SA. Use bloody bolts to regen your HP. If you are uber low on HP, sleep the mob then use potions while it sleeps.

Sure it is expensive but it makes it possible to solo. :wink:
