Smileys, Japanese style!

I'm not sure where this goes, but I thought it might be helpful here. It seems from what I saw when I was pokin' around the 'net that the Japanese use different smileys than we do. Here's the page I found:
http://club.pep.ne.jp/~hiroette/en/facemarks/index.html

And how to do them with just English charas (for us!)
http://club.pep.ne.jp/~hiroette/en/face ... index.html

If you have IME setup on your computer, there's a FFXI dictionary that can be imported into it with pre-set Japanese smileys that can be accessed the same way that you input Kanji characters. kaomoji (which translates approximately to mochi faces - you can find mochi in Asian supermarkets) allows access to quite a few.

You will need IME already setup on your computer to use this by the way. Url to the dictionary is here: http://www.odysseygate.com/ff11/ime/ The instructions for importing it are in Japanese though. To download the file, click the Download picture banner near the bottom of the page. Extract the .lzh using a utility like WinRAR. Then import it by choosing Dictionary Tool from your IME and import the text file that you downloaded.

With an offline Macro editor you can type the faces into your macro as well as key phrases of Japanese for use in FFXI.
