League of Legends

Didn't see a topic about it, so I figured what the hell. What's League of Legends? If you've ever heard of Defense of the Ancients, that's pretty much the easiest way to describe LoL. It's free to play with a cash shop, although all the cash only items are skins and purely cosmetic or EXP and IP (th...

Re: GT's take on FF14

There's also the whole thing with how leves are best used in groups. You activate one person's levequest and do it, and you all get the bonus exp, then the next person's and so on. Really you can group for a while with 8 leves a person. I'm still not sure what to think about the copypasted maps thou...

Re: GT's take on FF14

This game is basically getting slammed from all sides on the Internet at the moment. I would hope that it would raise a few flags in SE's direction, at least enough to get them to actually start working on sh*t. I still don't think the game is necessarily bad so much as it, well... incomplete. That ...

Re: Patcher fun

For my system, the patches are located in My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV > downloads >ffxiv. The torrent downloads a ffxiv folder and then subdirectories inside, you should be able to simply drop that into the downloads folder and overwrite whatever's there.

Re: Gamepad for XIV

For the beta I used a PS2 controller hooked up through an adapter and that was fine. I normally use a 360 controller for XI, but the XIV beta wouldn't detect it, maybe because of my 3rd party drivers (not XBCD, some Japanese ones because XBCD wouldn't give force feedback on XI). I'm not sure if reta...

Re: Early CE Launch Tomorrow

I was gonna wake up and drive to Gamestop as soon as they opened, but I spent too long playing League of Legends last night, so I woke up around 11, but I did still drive to Gamestop first thing. Currently, I'm patching and finishing up lunch before I finally decide to try and play.

>Wait a few minutes
>0kb/s up and down
>close patcher

>Browse to patch folder in My Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV
>Find torrent file
>Double-click to open in utorrent
>Suddenly, 600kb/s download.

I don't get it, but it works.

Guess I gotta reapply, huh? Were you at any time a mithrapride member? Yep, but the Hades branch sorta just vanished, so I moved my character to Asura If so, what was your username? Ingame? Cerisa Will you be playing as a Kitty? In retail probably. My beta character for CB was an Elezen though.

I'm sorta used to the startsr cities being ghost towns. That being said, I've been gone a fair amount of time, long enough that I didn't hear about the server merges and was a bit surprised to see "Welcome to Cerberus!" When I logged into Cerisa and more surprised when my linkshells were a...

The PSU looks solid enough. I saw the one on the case first and freaked out, and then I remembered that PSUs that come with cases are crap, and that nobody in their right mind would use it. I saw the case though and it's a tad flashy but i'll work fine. Corsair is a good brand for stuff. I typically...

Well, the bad thing about non-PLD tankers is the whole damage mitigation deal. PLDs have it down thanks to the A+ shield skill. Not to mention Defense Bonus and a natural ability to wear high defense armor. The White Magic is just a bonus to help alleviate any pains and doubles as a hate keeping to...

The only thing I've ever needed when healing in the dunes is cookies, even as an Elvaan I've never had huge MP management issues. Astral Rings are completely unnecessary. As a DD I seldom pull hate. I'm sort of wondering if it's because I'm aware of the threshold or because my gear is terrible I don't do enough damage to do so. That being said, I know how difficult it can be for a PLD to hold hate sometimes, even if you're keeping up your provoke/flash cycle as you'r...

Persona 4

So... this came out last week. If you want to know what I've been doing, it's been this game and its predecessor, Persona 3 FES. If you don't know about them, they're a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series of RPGs, taking place in a modern day high school in Japan. It's part dungeon crawler, pa...

Man, if I won any of that, I'd be a lot better off. I don't have any good gil-making methods, really. I used to farm large bird feathers outside Jeuno but it wasn't terribly fast and I still got killed now and then.
