In-game gil selling must stop NOW

Squeenix has finally taken some action in monitoring the in-game gil selling and buying activities in game and that's good. However, it's not enough. Players need to step up and cooperate. We should urge everyone to join in the movement of boycotting in-game gil sellers. If we all just learn to stay away from them and their shady practices, they'll give up and kill themselves. Besides, there are other alternatives when it comes to buying gil. How about checking with reputable companies? The ones that have been in business for so long and has gotten good feedback, such as IGE and the like...players are better off supporting these companies. I honestly think they're better because they don't infiltrate our game like nasty pests

You are fighting a losing cause. While I do agree with you, there are better things to put your energy into. To put into modern day terms, we have a better chance of winning in Afghanistan and converting all the locals to consumerist christians then we do of stopping people from buying ingame currency.

Where there's a market there will be gilsellers, stoping sellers means you will have to stop de buyers first.
Getting rid of them entirely is not going to happen any time soon.

I'm surprised people need to buy gil in this game, money is pretty easy to come into and there isn't the kind of elitism that you see in FFXI either (not yet anyways). Heck I'm getting close to a million now and don't really have anything to spend it on, gil isn't the problem, it's finding/crafting what you want that is

That is also the downside of making it easy to obtain gil.

The ability of making lots of gil in a short time means that it can also be sold cheap as there is plenty of it.
And cheap gil means there will be more buyers.

Gil Selling, no matter what the company's reputation is defined by ToS as a breach of contract. You buy from IGE you lose your account. Period. Any Pride Members caught buying gil should be perma-banned.

It's just a fact of life in mmos people should just get used it to since nothing can be done other than taking it out of the public eye. Sure people can be baned or punished in some way but it's never stoped it before. ff 14 doesn't seem to have as many issues as other games yet, but I feel thats due to the way the game is setup once se makes changes to make people happy it will open the door to more rmt.

As a member of the Inner Circle: Yes, all kinds of third-party RMT are against the ToS, and the Mithra Pride WILL NOT condone, allow, or enable such activities. The Pride is a clean establishment, and we do not want to be associated with gil sellers, hackers, botters, or bug exploiters.

Now, personally: the only reason why I, personally, entirely by myself, have a problem with giil sellers is that it is against the ToS and some sellers use hacking to get gil. If it were allowed under the ToS and the gil earned through legitimate in game activity I would have no problem with it.

The OP isn't a troll, but a (smart) bot crawling through forums and opening discussions or giving (usually non-sensical) replies.
Mostly also used to sneak in advertisements.

I've seen quite a few of those on the other forum I maintain.
Mostly originating from China making a post about a recent news article articulated in perfect Dutch, ending in a link saying.
Buy Shoes/Viagra/CD's and DVD's/Etc.!

Like this one pretty much saying "Buy gil at Joe's"

One other thing I've learned in the years of forum moderation.

This is a pretty old vid already, but it is still the way most RMT companies in the east work.
Hire some poor kids with close to no education and let them work for ~1 dollar per day.

Most of them don't even know that what they are doing is illegal (even by law in their own country).
