PS3 exclusive is suicide. They'll make it PS3 Onry then shut down FFXI forcing many PC/360 people to go to sony. It's not right. It's a lost money thing.

EDIT: YAY NOT ON 360! PS3/PC Onry! Horray! Seriously, RPG's don't have good track records on 360. 360 is FPS mostly.

They won't shut down ffxi and it is PS3 Console exclusive, but it is also on PC. so all the exclusive means is it wont be on PS2/360 which is a Good thing imo.

Well, judging by it. I'll expect Tailless Galka, Tarutaru (The icon shows a male and female. Top right in the blue), Elf (With not-so-long ears), and Hume.

BUT THERE BETTER BE SOME MITHRA-LIKE RACE OR IMMA BE MAAAAAAD!!!

Edit: And they better keep the job system.

And make less servers. Honestly, I'd love a one server community.

I don't see anything wrong with putting it on 360 but guess FFXI sales weren't good enough to support putting it on 360, 360 owners can always get it on PC.

I probably should stay away from it regardless, I definately will be if there isn't a cute cat-girl or bunny-girl race

As for shutting down FFXI I heard they will be late 2010, I can't watch the video because it's country restricted

There seem to be a LOT of Japanese otaku who are still on the PS2.

This, the rumored porting of FFXI to the PS3, and probably several other measures I am unaware of, seem to be a bullet aimed straight at these otaku's wallets.

I am aware that platforms are loss leaders, but the PS2 holdouts aren't buying PS3 games, are they?

Watch the video closely, the boat fight scene where you see the magic dome, there is a Mithra in the middle that is casting that.

All current Races will be in the game.

There's no point to being a fan <gender> to any console. My hopes for FFXIV have been laid out. As far as we all know, it'll include the same races we've known and love.

What will be different about them, we'll see. So far, the Elf-like race has not-so-big ears, and the galkas have no tail.

Will we see a Male-Mithra and Female-Galka in FFXIV? Who knows. Hell, will we still have to use preset faces?

All I'm sure of, is FFXIV is a fresh start for FFXI, and I can't wait to see the cut scenes in FFXIV. That is, if they don't try to pull an AOC with the graphics.

I like my graphics simple, artistic, and beautiful. Not shiny, detailed, and taxing on the system.

I thought the look of Elvaan was pretty good honestly. their major issue is their animations are just terrible. Especially running..ugh. Watching an Elvaan run/fight makes me physically cringe.

The ears and their lankiness is what got to me. The ears looked a bit... blegh. I like 'em pointed up and pointy. Not stretching out like a pair of wings.

Well they've said it's a new game entirely. The only similarities are the races and that it's an MMO... and a job system I guess but the system itself may be completely different.
