I drove with the instructor, did a few stupid things (California stop on a stop sign, didn't signal in parking lot/parallel parking), but I did enough correct stuff to pass.
And once I waited a half hour to get my picture taken (Don't ask how the DMV can manage this. I'm still shocked). Once all that was done, we went home, he booted up the laptop, and did some insurance hunting.
And I realized how much it sucked to be a new, 18 year old, previously uninsured, male driver living in Las Vegas who holds a less-than 3.0 GPA.
*sigh*
In the end, I'll be paying $3.2k my first year under my Dad's AAA insurance.
