I downloaded the update, installed it, and got the red ring of death.
Looks like I won't hit level 75WHM before my birthday.
/sigh
Now to see if I can somehow get my PS2 working again so I can finish FFXII while I wait.
P.S. Could someone let my LS know what happened? Rishutlaw or Stockyboy? Please? Xbox.com won't let me send a message to them because I'm not a XBL Gold member and I don't want them to think I'm ditching the Sunday event. Thank you!

Yeah, probably because the clearance 360 I got at Wal-Mart was a refurb and the updates brick modded 360's and sometimes also refurb's which is why MS now sends out new 360's.
There's no other explanation for what happened. It was working fine last night, and until I installed the Spring dashboard update it worked fine, too.
The guy I talked to said total turnaround should be two weeks at most.

Recommendation: get on bittorrent, download install discs of FFXI. And install FFXI on your PC.
Its what I did when I wanted back into FFXI. (THough. My original/current account was a 2003 PC version)

I'm on a PowerPC Mac so that's out of the question and thank you a million Rishutlaw.
I just got my internet and cable TV up and working today along with my computer. The cable technician said there must be some sort of vengeful anti-tech spirit in my apartment since almost all my tech stuff died shortly after my 360 did
Oh, and Rish: You don't know about the red ring of death? Its red flashing lights in the 1, 2, and 4 positions of the 360's power ring. Google it to see pics.
Still waiting on coffin so it may be the first week of June before I get back. /sigh.

I called MS today because its been a week since I sent in my request for a repair and my 360's coffin still hasn't arrived.
They sent it to the wrong address.
So they've written up a new work order and are sending me a new coffin which should arrive by Tuesday thus killing any hope I had of actually possibly playing the Halo 3 beta because I got an early birthday present (A copy of Crackdown with the Halo 3 Beta) and was looking forward to it.
Then again, this is normal for me.

Oh that sucks. I've played the beta and it's pretty good even for a beta.
