Big Talk

All this talk SE is bringing out all at once is making me suspicious.

Supposedly all this is going on:

Choco Racing,

Besiged enhancements,

AF Quests for the new jobs,

New Mobs and NM's

Mob Locker expansion,

Merit Point adjustments,

Assualt Adjustments,

but is SE really going to make all this super awesome, or are they just blowing steam. I mean what if they make choco raising a comeplet B**ch to do. Then what? What if the besieged was calculated wrong and made too strong for the players? Only time will tell...

Knowing SE this next maint will be followed by 3/4 weeks of weekly "Emergency" maintanances to take out bugs probably twice a week.

They do have a developement team testing out all the new stuff but nothing can compare it in true practice with real players.
We are the true testers of the new implementations and can give out the bugs better then the developement team.

I expect a rusty start but in the end it will work when SE has taken out the major flaws.

Totally, can expect it 3 times a week for at least 2 hours each time.

If by "testing out" you mean "sitting on their ass drinking sake" then yes.

well, they've already announced that the continuation of the Aht Urgahn stroyline and Chocobo Raising have been excluded from this update

and Chocobo Racing was never going to be in this one, it was going to be later this year

Almost correct,

18/36 people in a SE office sitting on their ass >>playing FFXI on a Private server<< and drinking sake. :)

But in truth, those 18/36 maybe even 50 developers/testers can't really test out what will happen when 500/1000 players on every server in the real playing enviroment try new things out.

We've seen this before.

Players: This is too easy. I get a couple of my friends and with beat this, np. SE sucks, give us a challenge.
SE: You hurt our feelings, here, this NM will pwn you noobs.
*SE makes something hugely god awfully strong and we spend forever losing exp to said event/nm/whatever until....the cycle starts again...*

This same cycle is what brough about Dynamis...CoP...hell, even AV. And, every single mod to Besiged. We crapped our pants when they upped the mobs difficulty the first time, so we refined our strategy, and only rarely loose. Now, they are making it harder.

delays, setbacks...

Yeah, you gotta wonder how much of this wonderful stuff is being touted now and won't be that great later. I mean, this IS the same company that released prettier-than-actual PS3 screens/trailers/whatever at E3 2005, right? :P
