I thought MGS3 was set before MGS2

or is it from the new one?

OK Sugami, here's the MGS storyline as I know it.

MGS2 takes place a few years after MGS. MGS3 takes place in the 1960's with Big Boss, who is the original Snake. Solid Snake and Liquid Snake were cloned from him. Its like in Star Wars: Episode 2 with Jango Fett and Boba Fett.

MGS4 where those scenes are from is with Old Snake (Solid Snake, now older.) From what we have seen and Kojima has said MGS4 will be the final MGS in the series.

P.S. As for the Arnie Sig, a friend e-mailed that to me with the line "The Governator weighs in on the PS3." I thought it was funny so I added it.
