Um... I can't say really... My methods make money but slowly...
If you want, you could try seeing how vendor-bought equip sells and put some up for profit. Beetle gear in Kazham sells for at least double the vendor price on the AH on Hades.

Do what I did at that level: Take Thief to 15, then go to Giddeus as a 31RDM/15 Thief and farm the Giddeus bees and Digger Wasps. You'll make about 15K a stack on chips, 4K a stack on wings, and 6K a stack on Honey. It all sells and drops fast.

Well lvl 20 baron's/ Traders gear is good till you can get the brigadine armor at 45. then af is next. But ya farm behive chips. good money and fast selling rate. Also you can try silk. They go for like 40k+ in windy

My WHM is 52 and my RDM is 42 and I'm still doing Beehive Chips along with Silk, Blood, Vines, etc.
Just remember two things:
1. Treasure Hunter 1 affects common drops greatly with rarer drops to a lesser extent. You need a level 45THF to get TH2 for the big bonus to the rarer drops.
2. Fight mobs as close to your level as you can. You'll find that the drop rates are better on higher level mobs.

Yeah farming probably your easiest choice, along with fishing and mining perhaps.
Heh when my RDM was 41 I hit Pashow Marshlands and farmed elementals and leeches (the odd goob if you see em). Water Elementals spawn by the lakes along with 3 leeches at a time, just find yourself a lake (I prefered 2nd from bottom) and farm away. Water weather is almost all the time, occasionally get some thunder and if you know where they spawn you can take a short detour to try and find 'em.
As for the armour, baron's is too expensive and I wouldn't put that much money into low level armour even if I had it, trader's sucks and brig... why? It's ugly and only really useful for DDs so stay away!

THF to 15 is an excelent idea. At 31 you can take Spiders and Slimes in Korokola Tunnel. They will be DC. I first tried Spiders there at 30 or 31 as RDM/BLM. My first try, 7 spideys, 2 silks. It has never been that good since. Beware of Sickle Slash and links.
It is close to the Desert, so farm with your flag up while seeking.

I normally craft nin tools and do the occasional enm/bcnm fight for my gil. On weeks when I can't toolbag my tools (stupid first place tie ><) I go back to farming/field crafting.
I love Giddeus for the bees, although Tahrongi canyon is also a good choice for bees/crawlers/saplings/and mandys. Honey, chips, silk, seeds and cotton drop fairly well and always go for decent prices.
When I go raid Giddeus I bring a long a stack or two of distilled water, fire and lightening crystals. Beeswax (3x chips, one water, 1 Fire cyrstal) is a very low level synth for Alchemy and a stack goes for more then 3x stacks of chips (what you need to make it) in Remora currently.
The lightening crystals are to turn the Yag necklaces (if you don't need them for Norg fame) into copper ingots (1 crystal, 1 necklace) and is an even lower level synth in Goldsmithing. Current copper ingot/stack price is around 15k but I can get 2-3 stacks easy depending on inventory space/time till boredom sets in.
If you can turn, the honey into echo drops, but you may not have your Alchemy that high so just sell them

If you kill the Yag Pipers, Persecutors and Medicants you can stack the silver beastcoins as well, they sell for around the price of copper ingots. Also, lots and lots of harvest points in Gidd, bring along some sickles. Enssasa's Catayst goods sell them in W. Waters. Cotton, seeds, red moko grass are common and sell well. Theres also a chance for the rarer Mugwort which sells for 30-40k a pc at AH in Remora.
I also go farm slime oil/marlboro vines in Ordelle Caves by the Strange apparatus for more field crafting and the air and water elementals that spawn there during weather.
Just my 2gil

On Phoenix there are a few high level THF's who basically have a monopoly on the Leeches in Pashow when they're farming while LFG so be aware. I think they are NA THF's so if you're EU or JP you may not have to worry about them.

If you do level THF, do it in the Sahabratuas. you can steal Cotton from Mandies while you level.
THF/WHM till 6, then you can go THF/RDM. Leveling WHM to 3 is the work of moments inyou have not leveled it at all yet.

On Garuda I can make 10s of thousands a week reselling things from Jeuno shops at the Jeuno Auction House. The ones I know about, and I am sure there are more:
2 handed Swords, Silver and Mithryl earrings, Posion Dust (Gobbie Junk shop), the L 1 Katana (Kunai?) (Tenshido).
In addition, all but one of the Absorb spells can usually be bought for 1K and will sell to vendors for 1.5K.

at 31, you go to West Altepa(I think, its the area after Korrokola) and you fight the beatles at the zone for the next area in the NW corner, you can also fight dhamel around like 32(I think) and you leave around 33 and head to Crawlers Nest or Garilage Citidel. Its been around 4 months since Ive been there but Im sure thats where to go.

I think East Altepa is where you can go for most of the levels where you'd usually go to Garliage or Crawler's Nest.
Early 30s, it's I believe spiders (careful of sickle slash) and beetles, then dhalmel around 32-35ish... I think it's then or a bit later where you'll go to West Altepa and fight beetles around Revelation Rock.

Garlaige is great, regardless of what everyone else says. It will be until after 37, just find a place deep in the citadel that no one else is and chain bats and beetles all night.

That much gil can be made in less than an hour harvesting, mining or logging. That's my best advice for any lower level. If you want gil, you have to work for it.

I'm mostly familiar with harvesting, doing most of my work in Giddeus when I really need some gil. Can make around 300K an hour in the ideal conditions and if I'm really lucky. I probably average around 80-100K an hour at most times. There are points in Sarutabaruta as well and all you need is a stack of sickles and a job that won't aggro everything around you. If enough interest is expressed, I could probably write up a quick and dirty harvesting guide...

Well Yes, I harvest and mine on occasion also. But I make 10s of thousands a week sepnding a few extra moments while I am doing something I have to do anyway.
Bid on a few Scrolls, go to the weapon shop in Upper, buy a few Two handed swords, put them up at the auction house, takes longer to type than to do actually. Makes 7K / Sword. I sell ~ 6 - 10 a week. The Posion Dust doubles my investment but takes a bit longer as the Gobbie shop is further from the Lower Jeuno AH than the weapon shop is from upper's.
