Bad habit i'm trying to break

Well, this bad habit started with a Summoner in one of my parties. I was WHM and apparently the Summoner had been main healer until I came along. So the fight starts and I use Regen as my main healing spell (Any WHM who isn't using Regen is stupid IMHO. Low hate and for Blink tanks it is a godsend. Also good for SATA vokers and pullers.) so anyways, he keeps curing on top of my Regens. At a break I tell him that I can heal fine on my own and that I would appreciate it if he would Summon and backup heal as needed. He threw a huge temper tantrum and quit.

He was replaced and we went on, but after that I started venting my party frustrations in my Linkshell. I know this annoys a lot of people but after what happened last time...

And I know I vent a lot in here too and I am trying to stop that because I know that annoys a lot of you. So please bear with me during this time. I will slip up every now and again because it is human nature.

There are two kinds of people:
1. Those that can't control their frustration all the time and so they sometimes lash out at people.
2. Those that seemingly never lose their temper until one day it all comes out in a rage of destruction.

Which are you? :)

One can learn to do it diplomaticaly.

Tell him something like, If you like, I have the healing covered well enough that you can Summon instead of Cure.

Of course I always think of the diplomatic way too late........ :roll:

The only problem there Tsybil is that some people seem to think that by telling them that you're perfectly capable of doing your own job that they're doing something wrong. And as such, they take it as a personal insult. :oops:

In other words, some people are idiots. <.<;

Some people hates when someone tell them to change their style of playing.

But having tantrum is too much. :stare:

Also, while I am a fan of the diplomatic approach, I am not too good at it.

I have been diplomatic and I do try my best to control my rage but some people really push my buttons. Like this WAR/NIN I dealt with last night. If I had been the leader of the group he would have been kicked (Both from the group and from my foot being shoved up his ass) for what he did.

Okay, so we're starting out setting up when he pulls. So we take his pull and the fight goes well enough all considered. Then he says "Stop!" and says "I need to slap this Galka. He's being a F***ing moron!(I edited it, he didn't)" and goes on about how SATA was messed up and how us SMN's are wasting MP with summons instead of doing our damn job and healing. He also went on about how crappy our chain experience was and how we need a PL. I went ballistic in /tell on him and the leader gave him a good talking to in party chat. For the rest of the time we never heard a word from him and after he hit level 32 he Alt-Tab'd.

Needless to say I did what I said I wouldn't but I feel I was justified.

Actually there's a 3rd option. Those who are content to sit at a low boil for the most part, then calm back down. Until getting well and truly pissed and making #2 look like a kid's sparkler on the fourth of July. <.<;

I tend to fall somewhere between #2 and my mentioned #3. There's been one of two times I've gone off on people in MP for outrageously idiotic behavior (or just not letting old bones stay buried) and I think those are the few times people ever see me mad. Well, that and the one time I got the comment (in the middle of ranting at two people for not damn well shutting up on a subject thought to be closed more than a month prior) "Kint is scary when she's angry o.o;;" .... This coming out of one of the higher kitties at the time tells you something is wrong. :oops:

I go for option 4) live and active volcano

look peaceful on the surface, erupt a few times, look peaceful... just to keep em guessing. Hell.. once i got pissed off at someone and blew up on them with a smile on my face. Voice and body movments said i was angry, while i was smiling the whole time like a deranged psychopath....

Yep... its more fun when you keep them guessing...

There is a third option.

3. Holds it in until they can take it out ganking things wholesale in a TRULY VIOLENT video game.

When I was a kid option 3 was biteing the heads off of chickens.

Homer Simpson: The best thing to do is to push your anger deep down into a tiny little ball and release it at an appropriate time, like when I smashed that whiskey bottle on the referee's head.

Wait... you're telling me you met a summoner who would rather heal than use their avatars? :shock:

It... doesn't... make any sense :?

Fixed it for you Tsybil yours was actually the 5th option in the thread.

I'd like to add

6. Contains their anger for use as base material, so they can forge and temper it into something refined, yet truly frightening, when its really needed.

But back on topic, Forums are usually considered to be a decent place to vent frustration, i beleive its just preferred to indicate such topics with the word Rant or some indicater thereof.
