my version update crashed, so now I have to compleately reinstall FFXI and CoP

the FFXI reinstall really fucked up my system, it deleted nessicary system files, now I have to reinstall windows

then you had something else wrong, FFXI does not delet importent files to windows like that

Uuuh. That really does suck...

It may be a mulitple program error. if you have to many MMORPG games installed your computer gets all confused and starts doing things its not supposed to. "Breakdancing maybe?"

You may have had a virus in your comp.

I dunno, just throwing out crazy ideas.

I suggest checking your pc for viruses and spies.

Version update wouldn't cause crazy things like that, eventhough it crashed.

No, but version update crashing will cause you to have to reinstall FFXI....had that happen after waiting 2½ hours through an initial update after a fresh reinstall.

Not pointing fingers, but this is known to happen if you update with a third-party program running.

My friend said that if at the end of version update the progress doen't move for a very long time, don't shut down the POL.

It'll crash your FFXI files.

Yup, my friend's got the same problem of having to reinstall the whole pack.

From experience, do NOT update ffxi while using the windower... in the past wierd things have happened including regestry keys and files getting deleted completly. ive had to manually backup my regestry or reinstall ffxi depending on what screwed up.

I update with the windower regularly and nothing generally happens. I also usually just have FFXI running and maybe FRAPS and Gaim in the background.
