I remember it being a snowy christmas. I had awoken a very happy kitty and ran underneath the christmats tree. I had opened up a gift to find *gasp* a nintendo. oh my beloved nintendo. With the 2 button controls and the wonderful graphics. As I began to grow into a bigger kitty, my heart was wowed with teh super nintendo. Once again it was time to learn the controls and enjoy the antics of mario. but little did this kitten know, someone even more evil lurked behind the corner. *gasp* a playstation and nintendo 64. I thought I was in heaven, so following the gamer crowd and community I endulged myself in my two new systems. Now here I am a grown kitty, playing gamecube and Playstation2 and xbox and I ask myself. Whatever happend to the old games?

They're... on my computer... and my PSP... and in my closet.

I'd say the classics are still around, I mean... since retro is cool now.

As for game quality compared, well... it's hard to compare, but it's certainly more apparent that games are highly commercialized though, just like movies and TV and music.

/gasp! You mean you got rid of all your old games? :? hehe

Places such as EBGames still deal in the classics. Just log on their website and click on Classics. Eureka! Your old games! EB is also very good about actually displaying what they have in stock and they will ship it to you usually that very day. :)

Also, the actual legality of emulators is still up in the air in the realm of "fair use." You may want to research that before downloading one, but they do also exist and you can play all the old games on your PC as well.

I recommend EB first though. I personally prefer having my own physical copy of the game that I can put on a shelf and look at and say "I have that." Personal preference, but it makes me happy. :D

Happy hunting.

 When I'm bored at work, or during my lunch break I play my ORIGINAL tetris, mario brothers, or whatever other game I brought that day, on my GBA! Even after all these years..STILL FUN.

If you're on a Windows PC then the world of emulators is vast and glorious!

On Mac its slim pickens.

Linux, well...you're better off hitting eBay or buying a Windows or Mac.

Back in the early days of FFXI, people actually had hearts. When someone of higher levels would go through a starting town, they'd check everyone. Sometimes, they'd find a little level 1 with the gear the game started them with, and they'd pull them aside...

When I was just a pup, a nice person helped me start playing. He gave me some good starting armor, a Wax Sword +1 (My first HQ item), and 1000G. I cannot begin to tell you how strong I felt because of his kindness...

Kindness is often repaid. Now that I've become stronger, I'm giving people starting gear, information, tips, tricks, and money making guides, but 1k gil to get them going. Just like that person who helped me.

I know FFXI isn't as it was anymore. 1000g isn't crap anymore. The day of most kindness is passing, and the age of egos and ambition is taking a strong hold, but I will never forget the kindness showed to me, or the memories I have of when FFXI was good and friendly...

I do that all the time. Sometimes I give new player the last gil i have remaining. Why because I can easily make it back, while they cant. Just the other day i saw a few mages lvl 9 with lvl one gear on still. When i asked them as to why they didnt have better gear they replied " we dont know how to make gil in this game." Even though i was in a mad rush to get to valkurm to meet up with a buddy, i spent 3 hours showing them how to farm. Synthesised gear for them *go clothcraft ^.^* and helped them get lvl 10. Why? because i remember when i first started and Anuy from Mithrapride gave me 50K and escorted me to valkurm. Kindness will never leave the game. There may not be as much but there is some left still.
