When I was but a kitten I was the lord and master of Tetris. At my best I wouldn't break a sweat until I hit the hundred-teen's but sadly, time has not been kind to my skills.

Well, all of that changed this morning because for the first time in almost a year I got near the 100 line mark. Screenshot below serves as proof.

original game boy tetris for the win.

Back when i was a kitten, we didnt need more than 4 colors, all our computer operating systems were not flashy but got the job done. There were no such things as hard drives. Pong, Space War, and Asteroids were the latest thing in videogames.

Yes.. we had to go to school uphill both ways and had only one monitor for all 2 of our computers, but then again we only had half a power cord and a switch that said "Magic" and "More Magic" on the case of the second one.

But we survived on the same 64k of ram that was used to send a man to the moon. It was good enough for Nasa in the 60's it was good enough for us.

Nuuu!!! I have been owned!

And to make matters worse my roommate just beat (And unlocked) everything in the Mega Man X Collection that I never got to play AND bragged to me about how easy it was.

And if that wasn't bad enough yesterday was Valentine's day and I was out of Allegra so my allergies went nuts thanks to all the flowers.

PITY MEEEEE!!!!

In high school, I used to start on level 13. level 9? {No thanks.}

I thought level 9 was the highest you could start at, and the highest it would go was 13 or 14 (on the gameboy version). I still have the game somewhere can easily find out ^^

I was told at level 13 or 14 the falling rate of the blocks maxed out.

You can't start on level 13 for the nes version or any version as far as I know. You lose! :D

actually you can start with the speed of level 13 on gameboy by holding the select button while choosing your level. When you do that it displays the level with a heart next to it for your level.

Umm... no it doesn't I just tried it. Not in game Type A at least, 9 is the highest you can start at.

Trust me, it works. Also, the game does get faster up to 19, because I wouldn't struggle until 17 or 18.

It's one of Arika's takes on the Tetris game... The level's called "Death Mode", which is supposedly used for tournaments and uber-level play.

You'll notice that level progression isn't based on lines, but how many pieces you can actually *place*. :)

Don't know what version you have but it certainly doesn't work on the one I have

Even at my best I would panic and cry at that level.

I have been sidelined by a cold but as soon as I recover I will further hone my Tetris skills.

Hey, I got an idea: If XBL Marketplace has Tetris I say we hold a tournament!
