Yuhtunga Jungle just isn't what it used to be

So, I was back in Yuhtunga Jungle yesterday, leveling Dark Knight for a change of pace and as a (distant) future red mage sub job (so I can someday save an alliance of god fighters with 30 seconds of Chainspell Stun, followed by a quick death by said god).

We were killing mandies in front of Kazham while we waited for all party members to arrive.

And naturally, there were the usual goblin trains. But while goblin trains used to strike fear in the heart of parties (with gobs killing everything in sight as they walked back), this time people were training gobs on purpose.

If they wanted to get that hard-to-reach mandy, someone would train the gob while someone else went for the mandy. Then, the gob trainer would zone, the gob would disappear, and the trainer would re-emerge to finish off the mandy. Maybe it's for the best, but this completely changes the hell that was Yuhtunga Jungle from my early leveling days :P

And Garliage Citidel, formerly known as "The Train Station", might actually be PLEASNT now.

You're right.

The last few times I was there to level, higher level characters kept making trains on purpose to mpk and inconvenience whoever they could. It was pretty out-of-control.

Even without MPK, every time some puller had a link, ALL leveling stopped for 3 - 5 mins. This made the Sancuary Outpost, Gobbie agro and all, a far more plesant experience. Or even setting up camp in the dead end with a spawn point.

I too partied in the jungle for the first time in a long time over this holiday weekend. We were right at the zone and everytime a Gob was zoned my initial reaction was to freeze and try to blend into a wall or something and hope he didnt see me on his way back. But nobody else even seemed to notice. His prey zoned he disappearded and my party never even lost a beat. It was cool but it does kind of take away from the adrenaline rush of possible death by angry gob.

I am happy for this change, makes the MPK'ers job a lot more difficult, but i wonder what would happen if someone trained a gobbie train near a zone and used Warp before zoneing.

Loophole?

Loophole?
Why are you looking for loopholes? :|

Anyway, from what I can tell, if a monster loses all hate (because everyone it hated died, zoned, warped, teleported, disconnected, released it from charm, used Mijin Gakure, drank a venom potion and keeled over, insulted a GM and got jailed, etc. ) and finds itself away from its normal spawning grounds, it disappears without attacking anyone else.

The only exception is notorious monsters.

So if you really wanted to cause mayhem and panic in Yuhtunga Jungle like in the old days, you'll just have to find a notorious monster that aggros, and zone it. :P

Lol, they did that right after the update in the dunes. Somebody popped Marchelute (whm AF mob) and let him lose. It was a sight for sore eyes and lasted long enough for me to hear it on LS, laugh for 5 minutes, then teleport to Holla then catch a choco and ride to Selbina zone where he was polishin off advernturers left and right. It was very funny but sad at the same time. But now I see what I need to do next I wanna MPK a Biatch. 8)

I remember when I died three times as my WHM from the same train trying to save people. That day was the day I became an evil WHM.

Just think: If I had waited until after this update to level WHM in Garlaige Citadel I might still be good.

Then again, I have beaten KOTOR 20 times but never once have I seen the "Jedi" ending. So I guess evil is who I am.

I've seen that happen in the Dunes on Alexander a long time ago.

People didn't realize that it was a sound-aggro ranger, so when people would go in close to see the commotion thinking they'd be safe as though it were a goblin, they'd suddenly find themselves shot to death. Even powerlevelers ended up dead. It was a pretty gruesome scene.

I want to find a way to MPK all those damn mules that stand on the hills near the Rolanberry Zone trying to selll their Wares and whatnot. As if the game wasn't slow enough in Jeuno now they got to camp out near the zone, LOL

Why? That's stupid. The reason why people leave their mules out there is so they can bazaar when they are away and not charge people Jeuno's tax. For once people try to do something nice and you want to MPK them? Nice.. :x

aherm, not that I'm an MPK-er but there is a VERY large loop in the mpk rules.

gobs are a good example. Anything with an AOE spell would still affect all players near enough.

Just stand near your playertarget with an AOE monster....

I was talking to Gael about this earlier today. >.> *misses Aesha...*
