I wanted to ask those lucky cats that have the avatars if they have a lot of success using their Blood Pacts. I have been using Garuda in the maze, and as far as I can tell, Aero II is a complete waste of 11 mp -.- Claw is nice, though.

Is this typical, or should I spend a few hours/days maxing out my summoning skill? Also in a related question... what do I do during battles? I typically stand away from the main group (stonega) and heal anyone who turns red. Is that pretty much what I do? I don't want to miss something essential as a summoner. -.-

Summons (as by my friend Nattsumi) basically are support. Your summons do not fight during battles (cept maybe in the first 10 levels or so) because their spells and their melee do utter crap. You summon, do some buffs with them, get rid of them, and summon a new one for a new buff or maybe debuff.. and as far as I know.. thats it.. support using their buffs.. They don't fight.

Talk to nattsumi a lil perhaps, or another summoner.

Yes, by all means spend time leveling summoner skill. High level summoners are often seen outside the gates of Jueno, casting & withdrawing summons. It is said the skillups come more frequently there. I also wonder if you cast the avatar or elemental that is strong on that day, if that would increase the odds on skillups.

I still push Enhancing by Protecting passerbys outside of the Mog House.
