What is a man?

it's a poem i made in study hall..not towards anyone ok?

What is a man?

A man is just a bag of flesh, blood, and bone.

A man seeks greed and destruction.

A man does not care about anothers life.

A man whose heart was sold to the devil.

Where as god watches over men, satin watches and laughs at their pitiful survival.

Men kill each other for what they think is right.

A man is a murderer.

Some try to do right, innocent they may be they are always accused of a crime they never did.

A man is a liar.

A man who tries to do good never gets the respect he deserves.

What is a man?....he is human..one who has faults..

Not entirely accurate...some men are nice and stuff...but like you said at the end, "a man who tries to do good never gets the respect he deserves" good people are seen as weak unfortunately. Quite a crazy mixed up world of ours. Oh well. And now, time to sleep.

I can see why people would miss that, though, given that you refer to all people as "he". My feminist self has to call you out on that one.

What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason!
how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how
express and admirable! in action how like an angel!
in apprehension how like a god!

- Hamlet, Act 2 Scene 2

The problen is not that s/he doesn't work at all in poetry, it makes bad poetry even worse.

There are a pair of lesbian comedians who have found a great acceptance among straight audiences. Their sthick revolves around bad, pretentious, feminist poetry just full of s/hes.

In Soviet Russia they used to jail their poets. Here in America we do far worse. We ignore them.

Keep trying Yugi. Poetry is more about ideas than words or forms.

Those arent bad poetry skills, they are very good :D
In todays world you are made to think that what you said is offensive but it is true man is very destructive. For some interesting reading you should check books on goddess or pagan worship where the female is the benevolent one, the mother, the caretaker. Todays religions have rewritten the role of women to be lower than man, that man is more powerful and women are weaker. The sacred feminine as it is known no longer exsists and its a shame.

True, but Hamlet was speaking with sarcasm there, and bitterness. The full monologue goes:

"What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form and movement how express and admirable... In action, how like an angel. In apprehension, how like a god! The beauty of the world, a paragon of animals. And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust?"

I don't believe that's true. If you keep going, he tells Rosencrantz that as fascinating as the affairs of men and women should be to him, it does not interest him. He preceded it with saying that as wonderous as the sky should be, "it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours."

If anything, he's conveying both his depression of the murder of his father, and his single-mindedness about exposing the new king, his step-father, as the murderer of his dad. Everything else is irrelevant to him, no matter how amazing it should be.
