G#m
Times when I just can't
E
Bring myself to say it loud

Like the other day
I thought you won't be coming back
I came to realize my lack luster dreams
And among the schemes
And all the tricks we try to play
Only dreams will hold their sway and defy

Giutar, most acustic 12 string, and not much anymore.
Tenor and 5 string banjo.
Haven't been on a stage in decades.

Tsybil: What kinda music do ya play? I'm quite interested.
As for me, I play 6 and 12-string acoustic guitar, mandolin, and a bit of fiddle. I mainly play fingerstyle stuff (Pierre Bensusan and Michael Hedges), and a bit of bluegrass (not to be confused with country /shudder).

You are looking at someone with no I mean no musical talent, I tired the Trumpet in High School and sucked and tyhen Tried the Tuba and sucked, I may pick up some instrument, I always wanted to try a clarinet. I can whistle in four different and different sounding ways, i can sound like a train wistle or extremely high pitched and normal and another variation between the front two teeth, which is funny because as a kid I couldn't wistle at all ><.
Maybe I have musical talent, but haven't found the right instrument....

Quite familiar with the difference. I will dance to country, but don't much have use for it otherwise. (Do try to watch the music video of "Queen of Denial" though. Highly recomended.)
Traditional folk from the Child ballads through Woody Guthrie, some blues, a little ragtime. Not all traditional arangements, I have a rocking version of "Henry Martin", and a banjo rag version of "San Francisco Bay Blues" to name two.
Absolutly rocking versons of traditional folk have been recorded by Pentangle, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, and Hickory Wind.
For truly clasic traditional aragements of the Scottish and American versions of some of the Child ballads, you cannot do better than Ewan MacColl (sp?) and Peggy Seeger.

Baketsu i can tell you something that someone told me, test drums, its like 50/50 that you can play, you either can play it or not(if you can hold rythm or whatever this guy told me... was a looong time ago so i cant really remember 100%)

its easier then you think but ofcourse you need to train alot also ^_^ i have played some trum and bass also very fun stuff

Gah, well, I hate to oppose the mainstream and all of that, but I don't play guitar. ^.^;; Instead, I play the euphonium. It's like that bastard child of a Baritone and a Tuba as far as size and tone. Bass Brass all the way, woot!
Yeah, I played it through out the last half of grade school, all of high school, and my first year in college. I kinda dropped it after that because by comparison with my class mates, I sucked.

It's not that we're not into music. Just most of us I think don't play anything mainstream, lol. I can play trombone and baritone/euphonium. But that was back in school, ya know? Don't play guitar or anything, lol.

I play a wee bit too much for my own good >.> I play guitar, drums, and bass. Not too much bass these days, though. I spent a lot of time on drums. I play in a pretty hectic style, somewhere between the more creative end of hardcore (Pg.99 etc.) and, um, primitive black metal (Darkthrone, Marduk, Mayhem). It hurts after a while; my leg muscles are killing me right now from last night's playing >.< Double-bass pedals are my best friends; my high-hat pedal broke a year or so ago, and I've not needed (or bothered) to get it fixed. Basically, I hit things, fast. Sounds like a bit of a mess at times, but there's method to it ^_^
Guitar... quite similar, really. Only play electric these days; never really got on with acoustic. Lots of treble, fast up-and-down strokes so it sounds like each chord is continous, rather than lots of fast ones. It's got to be melodic, though - I like to be able to hum what I play. In short, I'm ripping off stuff like Iron Maiden, Darkthrone (again), Dissection, and Heroin (yeah, there's punk amongst the metal). I don't play other people's songs too much - I mostly sit and write stuff myself. Few songs I do play are by Darkthrone and Iron Maiden.
I used to be an awesome bass player - not wanting to sound big-headed, but I was - but I've not played much this past year. I got more stress-relief from guitar and drums, so I stuck with them that bit more. Bass style was somewhere between RATM, Iron Maiden (again), and mid-80's and 90's emo (Rites of Spring, Navio Forge, Indian Summer... see
www.fourfa.com for what I mean). Melody is key here.
Given all this, it might be surprising I'm not in a band, but I never had time at uni, and my hometown is full of MTV punks and idiots. I won't play music I won't enjoy, and the idea of playing countless Offspring and Green Day covers when instead I could be doing something that bit more original and emotional... *chokes*. I've messed about with computer-based programs, like Fruity Loops (I like my electro too), but never really took with them. I might home-record stuff one day, though, when I get some money together. Though when I was at uni, there was talk of me and a few friends getting together to make noise in a Wolf Eyes style once we got our equipment togehter, and I should be back there next year...
And I've talked your ear off.
and to throw a real curve-ball, I've been trying to rap. Seriously. Not like gangster-rap or anything, but...
