Azimuth Circle

Master, Master!
My wings are wilting wretchedly in this warm weather, kupo!
It's times like this that I wish I wasn't covered in fur...

Of course, we moogles aren't the only ones suffering, kupo!

All the craftsmen, merchants, and even the city guards are languishing listlessly while longing for a little relief from the heat.

But never fear, kupo!
Officials from each nation have joined forces with the M.H.M.U. to lift the spirits of sweltering soldiers and adventurers alike with a brand-new proposal: the Sunbreeze Festival!

While continuing the popular activities of previous festivals, this event aims to lure cool breezes from the heavens with all the fun and dancing taking place here on the ground, kupo!

The officials I mentioned earlier had a slightly different idea, but it was thankfully voted down.
(Casting a humongous Blizzaga V above each city and showering the citizens with shards of ice didn't seem like the safest solution, kupo...)

Fantastic fireworks and sensational goldfish scooping are slated to make a return this year, along with the introduction of the Rakapopo Dancers; a Tarutaru troupe that performs the Far Eastern Sunbreeze Shuffle!

And don't miss out on the wonderful prizes to be won from the addictive new game invented by Azima of the Alchemists' Guild, kupo!

All these absorbing activities are sure to take your mind off the heat, so join your friends and help make the Sunbreeze Festival a refreshing success!

[Event Details]
This event is scheduled to commence at July 28, 2005 17:00 and will last until August 15, 2005 0:00 (PDT).

Southern San d'Oria/Port San d'Oria

============================

Master, master!
How are you holding up in this horrible heat?
You've made the Sunbreeze Festival a smashing success, kupo!
And now it's time for the main event--"Azimuth Circle"!

Azimuth Circle has rather complex rules, so I'll have to drill you beforehand, kupo.
First off, the game can only be played in pairs--everyone must be in a party of two. So you must begin by searching for a partner.
Coupling with a good friend would be ideal, of course. But even if you aren't exactly the most popular master...no problem! Just ask around, kupo!

And then, um, ummm...oh yeah! After that, just talk to a moogle with your partner and say you want to start the game, kupo!
Then the moogle will tell you where your partner should go. It will also tell your partner where you should go! So you and your partner have to relay information between each other to figure out where to head next, kupo. Each of you should reach your checkpoint with good teamwork!
Examine your checkpoint to find a hidden compass. The compass will point in the direction that your partner should go, so both of you should use this information to help each other out. Work together to find all of your checkpoints and each of you will find a doll at the end of the trail, kupo!

Last but not least, trade your doll with your partner and then trade the doll that he found to the moogle, kupo. End game--the moogle will give you beautiful swimwear to beat the heat as a reward for your efforts! Nothing like going for a dip in the ocean in this scorching weather, kupo!

Ah... I almost forgot! I have a message here from Azimuth of the Alchemists' Guild! Here's what the inventor of Azimuth Circle had to say, kupo:
"The name 'Azimuth Circle' comes from this gadget we set on a compass in the old days so we could verify directions proper. I'm not vain enough to name a game after myself! Anyway, I hope you and your partner become good friends while playing. Maybe you can even invite them to join you again later wearing the rewards you gained from playing. I wonder what games you could play with them then...haw haw.........!"

Ahem...yes, Ms. Azimuth is certainly a unique old... Anyway! Where was I, kupo? Oh yeah, Azimuth Circle. Please join us in the festivities, kupo! Master, master, get up and get out there! It's time to find a partner for Azimuth Circle!

okay, remember when you used to play stuff like Marco polo and hot/cold when you were younger? azimuth circle works kinda like a combo of the two

to make understanding it easier, do all postion checks facing magnetic north

so you have 2 partners for this. partner A and partner B. before you set out to search for the dolls. decide now who you want to go looking first. it is also a good idea to mark all of the check points in your area before you play

okay, so you got your partner and you two decided on who will go searching first. for sake of the example i will have partner A search and partner B give directions.

you both should stay at the moogle for the first direction check. This will give partner B a better clue as to where to direct partner A

partner A will then off in the direction indicated from partner B's first check at the moogle. If you have all the checkpoints marked already on your map, this should give you a general clue which one it could be..

Now here is where haveing the check points already marked makes the big difference. since the first check narrows down the selection. partner A will stand between the possible selections in that area.

Partner B will make a new compass check. which will further limit the amount of check points in relation to where partner A is to them. (so if first check said north east and there are two points to the north east, partner A will stand in a spot between those two points. The next compass check will point to one of those two.)

You keep doint compass checks like this untill you narrowed down the choices to one target area for partner A. at that point partner A will click the check point and get a doll. Be sure to stand as close to the check point as possible.

now that partner A got the doll. partner B searches while partner A gives directions from where they got the doll. after you both get a doll. trade it to eachother then trade to a moogle.

To get the +1 versions, do the quest in another city.
yeah, it's exactly the same suits with 2 defense instead of 1, but it has the "Reduces clamming "Incedents"" ability.

ok that is all :D

Some of the check points are in hard to reach or imposible places. Southern San d'Oria, in a tree. Reached it once in the four times I got it. Windurst Walls, inside a rock. Never could get that one.

If you blow it, just cancel the game and try again.

It is easiet to get each piece in a different part of the city. You can get them both in one part, but you can get a fine colection of Choco tickets too.

There are points inside of buildings, atop Sandy's battlements, in trees, other odd places.

Baketsu, I don't know the answer to your question.

Garuda; Top + 4 Choco Tickets. Midgardsormr; Top and bottom!! /dance (Thanks Wilemina)

Tsybil, you can enter 3rd-person mode to reach some of those targets. There's one in the water at Bastok Mines that you have to stand at a certain spot to reach... which isn't even the closest you could be to it. Every spot is reachable... you just might have to run around a bit to find the reaching point.

Baketsu, I'm sure it's not storable yet, but it is a good suggestion. Then again, if you're going for the HQ sets, those aren't storable anyway (not sure why).

I'm wondering, though... if you have signed armor that you store, will the signatures be erased?

What a fun event that was. I tried to start with Golddess, but the game wasn't working. We split up, and a hume girl helped me understand how the quest worked. My first prize was the Mithra Shorts, which I couldn't even see with my weskit. After getting choco tickets for our second run, she decided to try another city, and I paired up with Golddess again. She had the top and I had the shorts, so we made a cute pair. On our first attempt, we got the parts we needed. Yay!

to get the parts you need you have to do the quest again in a location that you have yet to do it in. If you get the pants in Port bastok, you will only get chocobo tickets there from then on. go to Bastok Mines and you will get your other peice on the first shot... every time.

Not quite so. I know several who have gotten both pieces in one part of town. Many more trying to do that have wound up with one piece and a batch of Choco tickets. I got four tickets before I gave up on S Sandy.

Yes, in a different part of town you will get the other piece first shot.

I noticed for the first time durring this event how PALE the other races are compared to us. Even the black haired Humes have way lighter skin than we do, while the blonds look as pale as Goths.

actually that's not neccessarily true. It may only be a glitch, but after I got my shorts in windy walls and moved on to waters, I NEVER got the top. I tried *counts chocobo tickets* five times and didn't get it. I had to go to San d'Oria to get it, and picked up the HQ shorts in the other area.[/i]

No mater what nation you choose, you wander into the capital of that nation as an outsider, willing to put your main loayalty to that nation. You are not born there.

I wouldn't until more players test the NQ items. The NQ Dream Cap still works even after the event and is a very nice item (20% less exp lost from a raise 1 if the raiser has it equiped.)
