LOL Great to have another anime/video game music lover. I have the first Xenosaga game but not the soundtrack and have not heard the music for II but if it's anything like the first Xenosaga then I'm looking forward to it in the second game. Preordered it! natch ^^

I have the OST for Xenosaga and I've heard tracks from Episode II. If you're familiar with Yuki Kajura then you should know what to expect for II. Episode I was done by none other than Yasunori Mitsuda, the genious behind both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.

Sorry, Kopopo! I forgot to reply when I got home the night of that first post >.< (FFXI makes me forget a lot of things >.>)

DC++ hub server address: yokokannomusic.no-ip.com

Novastar runs the hub, and compared to VGM, it's a pretty tight-knit hub where people actually talk to each other. 5 gig minimum share and they ask that you have 3 Kanno Albums included in the share, but they are lenient, talking with Novastar ought to grant you exception if you don't meet the requirement. These people have almost every single Kanno and Maaya Sakamoto album out there, and what they don't have is accounted for (meaning they know that they are looking for it)

Anyway, enjoy (and I'll probably see you on there XD)

I listen to Yuki Kajura's Dot Hack soundtrack and also Bruce Faulconer's DBZ soundtracks, the other night i was listening to the soundtracks of Pokemone Ruby/Saphirre! The "Mac Anu" music from Dot hack. track really fit SanD'ora really well for some reason.

The weirdest music I have listened to while play the games has to Rammenstein.....Gosh that was weird!

Yuki Kajura and Yokko Kanno are both Goddeses of great music!

Kenji Kawaii isn't that bad either, but playing FF XI with Ranma background music is quite, well, interesting!

hmm.. .hack,

A good anime, very good music.
Made by the same group that did the Noir soundtrack.

.hack isn't one of my favorites tho,
I like series like Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain more.
Love the soundtracks too BTW.

Anime soundtracks are a big thing in my favorite music list.

omg how can you think .hack is BAD???!!

Do they think the anime is bad, or are they referring to the game?

I thought the game was enjoyable, but the game did leave a lot to be desired.

It was a very simple dungeon crawler, nothing to make you stop and think. I think that turned off a lot of the usual RP crowd.

I have to admit I'd rather play FFXI than .hack when it comes to MMORPGs. ^^ But I love the story involved with the game .hack. Anime was very involved and personal. But the game's story had a mystery to it that was quite delightful. With each new character I met I become more intrigued. And though the e-mail correspondence might be dull to some (from reviews anyway) I thought it was amusing and kind of fun.

I do admit the dungeon crawls could be tedious and has stopped me from playing for a while. It's more fun with an actual party than two (basically) NPCs. But if the goal was to emulate an MMPORG I think Bandai did a pretty good job. Let's just see when I will actually finish it.

Sorry, Tail, only PS2, but something worth checking out if you're a .hack fan and you don't mind RPG play with many dungeon crawls. :D

I got a PS2 about two years ago and played it for a while, being a computer gammer it was a new experience! I got really used to the control pads on a PS-2 so I went out and bought myself a PS-2 to USB converter and now i play FF XI on my Computer using a PS-2 controller!!!!!!! That is weird!!! You would think i would have bought the PS-2 version of FF XI, but no, I sold my PS2 late last year cause a friend wanted to buy it and now I feel myself jonze-ing for the sleek black case and the cool games, well at least i have FF XI to keep me busy!!!

I have it on PC and PS2.

Anyway, my musical interests include 60's rock, some modern punk, techno, and almost everything on OC Remix.

/em tries to stay on topic...

Anyways, I mostly listen to acoustic type music. Pretty much alot of fingerstyle guitar, neo bluegrass, and that type that you can't really define (even though they call it country in the playlists.. silly playlists), like Nickel Creek

Very cool. It's nice to see Uematsu being so active. And it's great news that the West is getting more FF Concerts. The first Dear Friends was a wonder and I fully enjoyed myself. Hope those who missed it the first time are able to make San Francisco for the second. ^^

Well, with the new mini PS2 for 149.99 should be worth the more compact space and the included network adapter. FFXI PS2 players will have to forgo and change to PC but Baketsu's converter sounds neat. Better than paying 50 bucks more for a harddrive I think.

As to what it looks like, my sister got a JP miniPS2 on her trip to Japan a few months ago. We were both amazed at how small the new model is. lol I have it placed on top of my US PS2-1 and it looks like a mother giving her son a piggyback ride. ^^

Stay safe, all!

Right now I'm listening to some Inuyasha OSTs... I've been a big fan of that series for a couple of years now. I wish they hadn't stopped producing the anime, but at least the manga is still going. ^^

I'm also playing the PS2 Inuyasha game Curse of the Sacred Mask. It's pretty fun, although I think it could use more character-defining skills. The menus are also kinda... campy, sorta like an afterthought. I'm wanting to mod my PS2 so I can get the import version of the game, since the JP voices are much better than the US ones. So I figured I'd play through the US version once to get the story, then the JP version to hear the voices. ;)

So, anyone know the best way to get a PS2 modded for imports?

Honestly, Josie, the easiest way is probably to still get a Japanese PS2. Why? Well there is no easy mod solution and a good mod job is going to be expensive and not 100% guarantee. So you might as well pay the 149.99 or whatever the price is for a guaranteed system or you might lose your old one to the mod process as well. ^^

That's mostly why I got a JP PS2, all mod solutions require some type of tampering with the system and then you still have to boot up the machine in some tricky manner that just doesn't seem worth the money.

As for Japanese games, I heartily agree with the reason for buying them. It's too bad we can't have 2 language tracks on these games like .hack did. I guess 1 dvd can't fit both for most long RPGs. sigh ^^

Good luck! :)
