League of Legends

Didn't see a topic about it, so I figured what the hell.

What's League of Legends? If you've ever heard of Defense of the Ancients, that's pretty much the easiest way to describe LoL. It's free to play with a cash shop, although all the cash only items are skins and purely cosmetic or EXP and IP (the ingame currency) boosts. All heroes and stat boosting items (runes) can be ulnocked with IP, so you can play the game fully without paying a cent.

I never got into DotA but I was able to pick this up and play it fairly easily. It's a little simpler than the old WC3 map or Heroes of Newerth, which tries to recreate DotA pretty much to a T, but there's still a fair amount of complexity to the game.

I'd recommend reading some beginner's guides if you've never played any kind of DotA/AoS/MOBA type game before, and you can look up guides for specific characters for things like item builds, but they're not typically something that should be relied on.

I played LoL pretty actively in july but it got kinda repetitive with so few maps. Still I'd fancy a game or two especially along with some kitties! My favorite character so far has been Katarina. I've had pretty many good games with her.

I play as Ejianna, but I'm not on that often. Lately the trend of releasing unbalanced characters/unbalancing older unpopular ones to get people to buy them has been wearing on me. I understand that it's a legitimate business tactic to get people to buy more champs, and that there are few OMG game-winners (after the four bans in ranked play) but, yea...

My favorite champs are Nasus and Mordekaiser, but I have fun with Morganna and Kayle too.
