Thank you for worrying about us/Japan.

Post by Noelle »

Hello,everyone.
I'm sorry that this topic is irrelevant to the Final Fantasy.

You can see the location of me on right status, and I live in Japan.
Detail loc is inland of Iwate.
In Iwate pref on the coast has heavy damaged by tsunami, you know.
For example,Miyako,Kamaishi,Ofunato,Rikuzentakada.
You all Know this disaster I think. My country suffered great misfortune.

There are not many very known countermeasure about disaster in other countries.
SNSs became information board and communication tool for disaster.
Twitter has been used as very useful tool since earthquake occurrence.
We all Japanese do live life to the extreme.

My family and me is OK,
but inner of my house is broken down and many things are scattered about on the floor.
Essential utilities/electricity,water supply was restored arround here.
But articles of food are in short supply.

My living zone is unaffected zone by tsunami cause here is inland,
but city that my former teacher lives is longshore,
and my friends live at sublittoral zone of surrounding prefecture.
So I can't be in contact them.

We appreciate that support of over 70 countries.
I hope relief supplies are delivered to shelters and hospitals e.t.c. rightly.
Voices from abroad also finds us by internet.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of peoples who supports us.

Thank you very much.
See ya.

Noelle,

I am glad to read you are ok, I can only hope your friends are too.
I have been following the news a lot, I hope the nuclear reactors won't cause too many problems and that Japan can start rebuilding soon.

My thoughts go out to the people who have lost friends and family.

私の心と思いは日本人とされ (<- my heart and thoughts are with the Japanese people.)

Glad to hear you are alright, There are a few members here I know who live there as well. I am anxious to hear something of their status soon. :|

That said..looks like my summer trip there just got cancelled. /sigh every time I finally get enough time set aside something comes up. :( On the bright side, the airline was completely understanding and refunded my tickets in full. I literally just bought them 3 days before this just hit. I was about to make a big announcement here..oh well.

What a complete disaster, this honestly makes the Phillipines pale in comparison for the sheer amount of destruction. While I do expect the usual low life scammers trying to exploit money, the sheer unbelievable hate coming out of some of the "religious zealots" claiming they had it coming just enrages me. Every time I see idiot comments posted on videos it makes me want to revert back to my 1997 lifestyle and deal with them personally.

I'm not sure where you were planning to go, but anything below Tokyo is still perfectly fine.
If I may suggest something from my own experience, head to Osaka.

It is closer to the touristic places like Kyoto (15 minutes by Shinkansen), Nara (30 minutes by local express), Himeji (20 minutes by Shinkansen).
But from there it's also easier to reach the interesting cities like Tokyo (3 hours), Hiroshima (3.5 hours, from Tokyo 6/7 hours) and Hakata/Fukuoka (3 hours).
The quake devastated a lot, absolutely, but there are still many beautiful places in Japan you can visit.

If you're really going for Tokyo, yes then it is advisable to wait a little.
I'm going there myself in August, I'll be in Tokyo for a few days before heading to Nagoya and Osaka a few days after.
I won't be visiting any disaster areas though.

Noelle, I am sorry for off-topic ^^;

Tokyo and Osaka were my primary points of interest outside countryside. However the where is less important to the timing. Things will be pretty much a wreck over there concerning travel type stuff for at least several months. Since I don't have the freedom of schedule to go in august instead, I have to wait.

Still nothing from some of the others who live in japan from here. :?:

I think Felnost is ok, he hasn't posted much here lately but Gifu-ken is about ~500 Kilometers (~350 miles) southwest of Tokyo.
They may have felt shakes and some furniture may have toppled but the Tsunami didn't even come close to touching that region.

Asphe lives in Osaka, which is even a little bit further south from Tokyo and lies near the ocean but according to my friends living in the Kansai area (Kyoto which lies about ~20 miles from Osaka) that part of Japan remained quite undamaged.
She should be fine as well.

Unless either of them had a reason to be in the Miyagi prefecture neither of them should have any real damage or harm done to them.
It would be nice to hear from either of them still, though.
Other then that, I don't know of any other kitties and non-tailed two legged beings from the pride living in Japan.

Any US soldiers stationed on Okinawa will probably have experienced larger waves then normal at their coast caused by the tsunami but I haven't really heard about any casualties or wounded from there.
Okinawa lies a bit under 1000 miles from mainland Japan and I believe the main island lies a few meters above sea level.

No, no abnormal waves that I can see. Osaka/etc. unaffected. If anything, it's the indirect effects like the rolling blackouts taking out services that you were connecting to.

/shrug, I didn't help new orleans...I have a personal issue with intentionally enabling people to continue acting like retards. Didn't do a damn thing for Haiti either for that matter.

Wasn't much, but I participated in Razer's pray for Japan deal and picked up a couple mouse pads and donated to the relief. Only about $80 but all I had to spare right now.
