Oh and between those 8086 we had the 8088, 80186, 80188 and then the 80286 came.
The 80386 after that was the true revolution as it was the first CPU on a 32 bit architecture which lasted until the later Pentium series.
Hmm~ talking PCs, 80186s weren't really used, 80286 is the true successor of the 8086 and the 88s are just slightly improved versions. Dunno when they started to drop off the 80, guess since everything was x86 it was just easier that way
