A heartbreaking win

Post by Alya Mizar (Tsybil) »

Dynamis - Beaucedine. 21 total in the alliance. Not one full wipe.

Our sac puller pulled the Dragons with 11 minuets left on the clock.

Angra Mainyu relied heavily on Sleepga which did slow us down. I watched his life hit zero but a moment before the clock ran out. It was so close that the death report was not in the chat log. The two who needed the win had no time to find the ??? needless to say. :(

On the bright side, 5? 6? AF drops, 3 being BLM.

Aww. :cry:

We do the same thing in Glacier, though. Unless you have a ton of people needing the flag, you push the farm time to the very limit and then go slay Angra. We've had a few where we won with 60s to spare, which feels great on the farm v. flag efficiency scale. Missed a couple times, too -- too much farming.

The ones I feel worst about are the ones were we win with 15m+ left. Those are like glaring failures at time management. ><

BTW, if you want tip on speeding up glacier for your first win: use the two cliff slayings to speed things up. You can kill the southernmost Quadav and Orc extensions from the cliff above them using 2-3 BLM casting BurstII on them from above.

Watch the nuke. If they do it right, no agro from the spawns. If they do it wrong and stuff links, there's plenty of time for them to relog and kill off the agro train. The southern orc cliff slaying is particularly good for giving you lots of extra time for a short effort.

Do what my shell does, keep a mule outside with a glass, get win, make sure people who need it get the ???, everyone drop glass and get a new one and go back in...granted, 15 minutes left is kinda suck for that, but if you wanted to try and be faster about it, that's an option. ^^;
OMFG! 8 75+!!!! :shock: Who knew slackers could work so hard? D:
And now a Miqo'te as well. >=D

Usually I do pretty good at it -- typically under 5m left when we flag. Recently there's *always* been someone needing it, too. I far prefer the pure farm runs. You can toy with the shadows a bit and slay the entire yagudo level as well as all the goblins and quadav. We've never managed to slay all the orcs. Came close a few times, but the charmers are like speedbumps.

When we have 30 or more we go after ALL the Orcs, but with 21...

We manaburn the Orcs. Once a RDM learns the timing of the nukes it is easy enough to keep the Orcs slept through two or even three salvos. I cheat though. BLMs never have the timing down pat. I launch the Sleep II when the first nuke hits. I rarely have the last one wake the Orc back up.

Alternately you can keep the Orcs pinned out of Charm range with pets and avatars while everyone with nukes or ranged weapons has a free fire festival.
