1 little kitty was blonde, errr.... light brunette... errr blonde, another kitty hispanic, another kitty Asian(<3) another kitty confused about what this has to do with stickfigures.... as we all were.

lol i dont know why stick figures exactly, but everyone wanted to take on her concept of the whole stereo type thing. i didnt quite get it but i like to draw

Well, I know what she was talking about, and basically it comes down to two points:

A) The basic human shape doesn't really vary that much between ethnicities - everyone has two arms, two ears, two eyes, a nose, a mouth, all arranged in a fairly specific pattern, etc. When you just draw "a person" (or "a kitty") you typically don't go into an enormous level of detail, as long as you have those aforementioned basics.

B) When people see an icon or image that represents something else (like how a cartoon person represents a real person) their mind will fill in whatever details are left out, typically with whatever they consider to be 'normal'. So, an American sees an anime character, their mind fills in the details with what they see in everyday normal life, and they assume the anime character is caucasian. A Japanese person sees the same anime character, their mind fills in the details with what they see in everyday normal life, and they assume the anime character is Japanese.

Hence why Americans think that characters from Japanese anime look like Americans. Regional bias.
