Its fairly standard Sugami. Look at the AH prices for some high end crafting material drops, then the prices for the gear made with them. In almost every case, the key item sells for more than the piece made with it.

As the best HQ odds you can get on these things is 10%, no one without direct access to the drops can make a profit.

In this case even the HQ would be a great loss. And 10% HQ odds is impossible to achieve.

Yeah, we have a goldsmither in the LS, so he makes manteels after we fight Bahamut V2. We sell, and split the gil among the members who were at the event. That's really the only item we do that with. at 4.5m a pop and 18-24 people at the event, that's nice income for the ls.

We do the same really, with our Cerberus hides, Cashmere from Vrtra, Wyrm Horns from Tiamat etc.

We see first if we can get those crafted into gear which we can either sell to LS members for a discount price or put them on the AH for gil for our LS bank.
The LS bank in return sponsors our Dynamis Northland/CoP runs,
(Cities are sponsored by members upgrading their relic weapons.)
Einherjar, meds and reraise items for Dynamis lord, CoP run bosses, Einherjar and such.

A bit different from Fin's LS where the gil ends up in the hands of the event participants, but still basicly the same as Fin's LS probably expects the LS members to buy that stuff themselves.
