Confirmed: Life hates me!

Okay, so remember back when they announced the release dates for Mass Effect and Wings of the Goddess and I commented about how life must hate me because both come out on the same day?

Well life found a new way to screw me over.

This morning, I fired up my 360, popped in the FFXI disc and...nothing. Then I tried Bulletwitch, Crackdown, DVD's, CD's...nothing! THE F***ING DVD DRIVE IS DEAD!!!

GAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! *Turns into a Galka* KEAVY SMAAASH!!!

*Destroys San D'Oria*

I feel much better now....*Turns back into a Mithra*

So the coffin is on its way and thanks to the holidays I'll be lucky if my replacement arrives before Christmas so no Mass Effect or Wings of the Goddess or Call of Duty 4 for me this holiday. Four to six weeks without my 360...having to spend time with relatives...no leveling Scholar...

Urge to smash...rising...

If you haven't read my thread in several hours, then I guess you won't know that I've decided to stay. The World of Pheonix just won't be the same without you while your gone.

Hope you don't have happen what one of my linkshell members did- his 360 caught a bad case of the ring of death, so he sent it in, got told he'd have a new one in a few weeks blah blah- and ended up with a Xbox v1.0.

So he called them, sent it back, they apologized and said they'd send a new one out. He just got it and its a Xbox v1.0 again- he's all sorts of pissed at the moment.

The guy asked me how many repairs I've ordered and I told him this was my second (First being the Maat-induced RROD) and he told me if it was my third I would have gotten a game. I told my girlfriend that and she said "Oh, so its like one of those cards they give you at Starbucks." By which she means the "Buy # of coffee's, get one free!"

"Hey, everyone! After three 360 breakdowns, get a free game!"

Knowing them its something from the bargain bin. "Hey, everyone. My free game from Microsoft came in today. 'Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Video Game'? I'm on my fourth 360 and this is what they give me? Damn you, Microsoft! Haven't I suffered enough?"

Wow when my 360 eventually bites the dust I'll be sure to tell them that it's my third time. Even if the game sucks I can always give it to my achievement whore friend who has over 28,000 gamerscore.

Why don't you go on bittorrent and download FFXI, RotZ, CoP, ToAU, and WotG and catch up on leveling that way?

Oh, and my Xbox's disc drive also failed. I think they might be using the same one.

^ 360's my only option unless I get a fat PS2 and a Network Adaptor and my eyes said they'd leave if they had to look at that again.

P.S. 10.4.11? Holy crap! Apple's supporting the previous version of an OS when the new version is in stores? What the hell is going on?

xDDD. Bah, you should get a spare PC or just buy Windows XP to use Bootcamp.

One problem: Bootcamp only works on Intel Mac's.

Also, if I can't afford $80 for a used PS2 and network adapter what makes you think I have enough lying around for a PC?

P.S. This Mac is four years old and it had 256MB until I dropped $20 at Newegg for more. I think the limit is 1028MB.
