Track racing is back. I loved Pro Street. Cars Functioned Like they should. But EA Saw a great engine work and said "We can't have that, destroy it." Car's no longer function like they should. A Good example is the programmed to cheat driver duels. In that you take a car manufactuer and race the AI in a "Drift Battle." No it's not real drifting but the concept of one car leads while the other chases belongs to the drifters in the Togue mountains of Japan. I chose the faster car with better handling. BMW M3 GT-R vs an Audi RS4. The Audi was so much slower and poorer yet the computer magically was faster? How? The BMW Had a higher top speed --;

Drifting is my next huge complaint. I am an amatuer drifter, I admit that, but my Eclipse is tuned to drift. The game won't let me adjust settings on stock drift cars to work right. The system is broke and doesn't react very well. Next is the AI Cheating. Bouncing off you. Annoying. But I'll explain this system carefully. Every driver has 2 profiles, Aggressive and Precision. Agressive is playing dirty and Precision is playing Clean. That's basic Laments terms. When the computer slams into you and you didn't initiate it, you get the aggressive points. Why? It wasn't my fault. I was trying to dodge them.

On a positive note is the change of the driver lines. These lines show the best path on the track and are useful in time attack, which I'll get to in a second. If you stray about a millimeter from the line, you still get points. Good. It was changed. Now Time Attack. Time attack is a rolling lap. You get a set amount of time on the clock and have to complete as many laps as possible while holding the highest lap time. You do not need to be in first place to do this. The trick is the driver lines. The more you hold to them, the more you can set a higher lap time. There was an open NASCAR style course I did and even though my 240sx couldn't keep up with the top two drivers, I was still able to post faster times. Now the lines here didn't matter as I stuck to the inside turn no matter what and on curves followed the lines to the outside but drifted back into a right hand turn.

Now the star system. Each race has stars. Podium (First Place, Second Place, Third Place), Ability Points (Aggressive or Precision, either are fine, you need to max them out.) and I forgot the third. Then you get 2 optional points for overshooting your abilities meter. In time attack you have 6 stars. The above mentioned 5 and a bonus challenge. Like for example hitting the highest speed possible on your car. That changes as your modifications to your engine change. Others include a perfect lap. That means no going off the road, no hitting other drivers and following the driver lines as close as possible. Now above to Time Attack, when your time runs out and you're on a lap, you finish that lap. it took me my final lap to get the clean lap. These stars you need to unlock tiers too. So EA Jams you in more ways then one.

Driver level up system. Unlocks goodies. blah blah blah, nothing bad there.

my last complaint is one that is specific to me. WHERE'S MY 1999 ECLIPSE GSX, EA?!

Not worth it one bit. Starts out fun, but gets extremely frustrating. As for drifting, I'm a real drifter EA, come see me if you want to learn to program it right.
