Being lfp or gathering a pick-up party in Dunes is always a crapshoot. I've died four times in a row to crabs because the first three times the Black Mage didn't understand what "don't Bio" means and the fourth time he disbanded two blows into the battle because "you ned 2 lern respct...

This is still a game. if you want total realism such that shooting anything with a gun to the face makes it drop dead you're in the wrong place.

Still, even with that said, yes Ranger is more realistic now. It is more realistic because your range from an enemy affects your ranged attacks.

From what I've heard, the biggest, baddest, bestest damage dealer out there is Ninja/Black Mage after level 60 or 62, with a full set of HQ elemental staves and as much Haste+% gear as possible. I've also heard it's one of the costliest setups out there though, when it comes to gear (but not ammo.) ...
