Re: [Multi-Plat] Has SE finally hit rock bottom?
Well maybe in the near future, aside from indie games, most games will be online activation and online content only. You install a client and download everything else. So no more SW Force Unleashed I, II.. and so on. Just SW Force Unleashed... with periodic 'dlcs' that we pay for in u-transactions. ...

Re: PlayStation 3’s internal security overthrown
Remember when Apple sued over the unlocked iPhones that people were taking to their own carriers? Remember the courts saying "This is not illegal?" Sony doesn't have a leg to stand on if that gets brought up in court. They did bring it up in court, if only for show. They know that enough ...

Re: PlayStation 3’s internal security overthrown
WHAT??? Asphe, were this not all in English I would say something was lost in translation. Lets say I sold you a car with a ROCKING stereo system, private sale, but I named every component on the Craig's List add. Then a year or so later, with a duplicate set of keys, I removed it all. What fine pr...

Think of it as a really big DLC. Can't let all that work go to waste and now we know why the DLC was kept under wraps.

Re: PlayStation 3’s internal security overthrown
Dunno, if it would do much good. The fine print and EULAs covered them well. Mind you, I would PAY for them to put back the Emotion engine as well as 'Other OS' support. I know they took them out to save money, but they can just put them back in and charge more to compensate and people will buy it. ...

Re: PlayStation 3’s internal security overthrown
They had to do something, if only for show. I realise that the MSM typically misses the point in almost every tech related story (iPhone antennagate anyone? iPad?) but in certain circles, ppl are praising Sony's engineers. This is by far, the longest that any DRM has survived (in the stand-alone are...

Re: Su's FFXIV Mining "Guide"
When I was deliberately trying to get the 'low grade' ores, I would equip the +gathering instead of the +rare abilities. Since you can equip abilities from other jobs... you avoid the +rare procs while keeping the high proc rate. I hope they don't nerf this, this almost doubles my mining/botany reve...

After all that... it's a game. In Warband, I started my own faction by betraying my king (It was his fault, he got into an argument with my father-in-law and I took daddy's side, hubby told me he had no reason to go against King Graveth but said he'd go along with me if I wanted it. I think I'll kee...

So far, I've really only hit the 'focus' bug. Basically when you tab/switch to other windows and FFXIV's priority fluctuates a lot... I can cause a CTD within 5 minutes by rapidly switching focus on some PCs. I fixed this by 'fixing' ffxivgame.exe's priority to Normal regardless of if it's in focus ...

I think this game, like all MMOs by SOE will be good technically. Just wish Bioware was somehow involved, lol. Then again that would mean EA......
Now if only SOE will buy over SE's MMO business.

Re: FFXI Patch History
I just wish they'd move faster with patching these things in. Some of the things sound like they'd be simple to patch in at any time, instead of having them wait a month or so for some big patch that has a ton of stuff. I really -need- a new retainer or more inventory space, and they're taking fore...

Thing is, we really didn't feel to put upon. It was the first FF online, the majority of people were on Windows PCs that could barely play or on PS2. If anything, there was a shared camaraderie (if you played before ZM got put in or before the first NA invasion, you might have experienced this) betw...

Like my 650watt... which didn't support PCI-E power supplies nor the new format pinout on motherboard power inputs.
Less than 6 months old, but had to be replaced. Of course... not long after that, you needed 8pin PCI-E plugs... then you needed TWO of them instead of just one.

Re: FFXIV Keyboard vs Controller
No, it's normal. "Normal" that is, basically the communication between the game and controller is far more frequent and hence responsive. Didn't you use a controller in FFXI? In many ways, going from keyboard to controller to keyboard in FF online is like going from mouse to joystick in a ...

If her IP is static, they could be throttling her too. Some ISPs who can afford this, do so at times.

Re: Constant disconnects
I'm betting it's the # of connections and not bandwidth at issue. Use uTorrent, then throttle it down, not in terms of bandwidth but in the # of connections. Your existing p2p program is probably capable of doing this. Set it to just one torrent active, one leech and seed connection per torrent, i.e...

The arabs in turn had preserved much of Greek knowledge and culture. It would take christian Romans to finish the job that the mongols started in destroying this treasure trove. I play Recettear. Where you run an item shop stocked with items you make from materials you get fighting mobs you fight in dungeons and what-not. FF14 in other words.
