On top of that I run a LS and I think several members would not be happy if I just up and moved & ditched them all.
That fee to move would deter me if I was pondering leaving.

Oh yes! The stone monument quest is really interesting... it's kinda "long" but the snippets of story you get while doing the quest make it worthwhile in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind going to a less populated server, but at the same time I would hate to leave all my friends behind.

Well the upside of assault is you only need a max of 6 people... where with sky you need at least 6, more like 12-18 and then some depending on what you plan to fight.
Oh and no RMT screwing up assault...yet...
